It was established in June 1961 with facilities to run Bachelor's Degree Programmes in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering disciplines.

Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute Of Technology, Surat is one of the 17 Regional Engineering Colleges that were established as joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat. Pride in pedigree

There is a high correlation between an institute's ranking and quantum of pride students+alumni take in it.

Higher the pride, more is the camaraderie between alumni and students to lift all up, to lift perceptions upper in all places and organisations (MNCs, businesses). That would improve the ranking.
We can do much better than 65 (see below post).

We could be at least rank 15. Are we forgetting that all of us were only few marks short of the best colleges in the world.
