In Loving Memory of Late Mr. Chunjanglung Panmei (57)
Today, Pongringlong mourns.
With profound sorrow and heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Late Mr. Chunjanglung Panmei, a respected Village Authority Member, a humble farmer, a devoted family man, and above all, an innocent son of the soil.
On the morning of 08 June 2026, he left his home on a simple and selfless errand. As water had become scarce in the village, he went to inspect the village water source and pipeline to ensure that his people would continue to have access to one of life's most basic necessities. He did not go seeking conflict. He went as a responsible villager, concerned about the welfare of his community.
He never returned.
His tragic death has left a deep wound in the hearts of his family, relatives, friends, and the entire village. It is difficult to comprehend how a man whose life was dedicated to farming, serving his village, and caring for his people could meet such a fate.
Mr. Panmei was not a politician. He was not a wealthy man. He was not a man who sought recognition.
He was a simple farmer who worked the land with his own hands and lived an honest life. Yet within that simplicity was a greatness that many will remember.
He carried the trust of his people as a Village Authority Member and quietly contributed to the well-being of the community without expecting anything in return.
Today, Pongringlong has lost a respected elder. A family has lost a father and loved one. A village has lost a leader. The Naga people have lost one of their own.
His death reminds us of the human cost of conflict. Behind every headline is a family left grieving, a community left in pain, and a life that can never be replaced.
Though his earthly journey has come to an end, his memory will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew him. Future generations of Pongringlong will remember him as a man who lived with dignity, served with sincerity, and died while carrying out a responsibility for the welfare of his village.
As we mourn his passing, we also honour his life. We honour his hard work, his service, his humility, and his unwavering commitment to his people.
May the Almighty grant him eternal rest and give strength, comfort, and peace to his bereaved family during this time of immense sorrow.
Rest in peace, Dear Chunjanglung Panmei.
Your family will miss you.
Your village will remember you.
Your people will honour you.
Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.
