Under Project 'Jeevan Jot 2.0', a raid regarding child begging and child labor was conducted in Tarn Taran district under the able guidance of Hon'ble Mrs. Baljit Kaur (Cabinet Minister, Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development) and the Director, Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development, Punjab, Chandigarh. This operation was carried out at Sri Darbar Sahib, Tarn Taran, and Gurdwara Bir Baba Budha Sahib by the district-level 'Anti-Child Begging and Child Labor Task Force' under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rahul (IAS) and District Program Officer Mrs. Anupriya Singh, and led by District Child Protection Officer Mr. Rajesh Kumar.
During this campaign, a total of 10 children were rescued from the district. These children were presented before the Child Welfare Committee in Room No. 307 at the DC Office. After a thorough verification of the documents of the children and their families by the Child Welfare Committee, the children were handed over to their parents on the spot.
District Child Protection Officer Mr. Rajesh Kumar stated that continuous checking campaigns will be conducted in the district under Project 'Jeevan Jot 2.0'. Children found during these campaigns will be provided with the benefits of facilities offered by the Punjab Government. In addition, it will be ensured that the education of these children continues uninterrupted so that they can secure a better future for themselves and their families in the coming times. The District Child Protection Unit will conduct continuous follow-ups on these children. During today's raid, a special meeting was also held with the management committee of Darbar Sahib, in which an appeal was made to identify children engaged in begging, along with their families, and present them before the Child Welfare Committee, Tarn Taran.
Children who are not registered in an Anganwadi will be registered in coordination with the concerned Child Development Project Officer. Similarly, children who have dropped out of school will be re-enrolled. The main objective of Project Jeevan Jot is to identify children engaged in begging and rag-picking, and ensure their rescue and rehabilitation, so that child trafficking can be eradicated from the roots.
So far, a total of 12 children have been rescued in the district. After verifying their documents, the Child Welfare Committee has handed these children over to their parents, and their continuous follow-up is being done. Due to the public awareness campaigns and continuous checking by the District Child Protection Unit, there has been a significant decline in cases of child begging and child labor in Tarn Taran district today.
The District Child Protection Officer has appealed to the general public not to encourage child begging. The money given as alms by the public ruins the children's future and further encourages them to beg. If any child is found begging, information should be reported to the Child Helpline number 1098 so that the future of such children can be secured.

ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ 'ਜੀਵਨ ਜੋਤ 2.0' ਅਧੀਨ ਮਾਨਯੋਗ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਬਲਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ (ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ, ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ, ਇਸਤਰੀ ਤੇ ਬਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ) ਅਤੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ, ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ, ਇਸਤਰੀ ਤੇ ਬਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਪੰਜਾਬ, ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ-ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਲ ਭਿਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰੀ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਛਾਪੇਮਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਹ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਹੁਲ (ਆਈ.ਏ.ਐੱਸ.) ਅਤੇ ਜਿਲਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਫਸਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਤੀ ਅਨੂਪ੍ਰੀਆ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਨੁਮਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਬਾਲ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੱਧਰੀ 'ਬਾਲ ਭਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰੀ ਰੋਕੂ ਟਾਸਕ ਫੋਰਸ' ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਬੀੜ ਬਾਬਾ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁੱਲ 10 ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੈਸਕਿਊ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਡੀ.ਸੀ. ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਮਰਾ ਨੰਬਰ 307 ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਲ ਭਲਾਈ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਬਾਲ ਭਲਾਈ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਰੀਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਉਪਰੰਤ, ਮੌਕੇ 'ਤੇ ਹੀ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਪੁਰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਬਾਲ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ 'ਜੀਵਨ ਜੋਤ 2.0' ਤਹਿਤ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਮੁਹਿੰਮਾਂ ਚਲਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਮੁਹਿੰਮਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮਿਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਇਹ ਵੀ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਬੱਚੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਸਕਣ। ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਬਾਲ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਫਾਲੋਅੱਪ (Follow-up) ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਅੱਜ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਰੇਡ ਦੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸਮੂਹ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਲ ਭਿਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਦਫਤਰ ਬਾਲ ਭਲਾਈ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਤਰਨ ਤਰਨ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ l
ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਆਂਗਣਵਾੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਬਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਨਾਲ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੋਤ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਬਾਲ ਭਿੱਖਿਆ ਮੰਗਣ ਅਤੇ ਕੂੜਾ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਚਾਅ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਨਰਵਾਸ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਬਾਲ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਜੜ੍ਹੋਂ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਕੁੱਲ 12 ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੈਸਕਿਊ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਬਾਲ ਭਲਾਈ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਪੁਰਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਫਾਲੋਅੱਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਬਾਲ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕਾਰਨ ਅੱਜ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਲ ਭਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰੀ ਦੇ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਕਮੀ ਆਈ ਹੈ।
ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਬਾਲ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਮ ਜਨਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬਾਲ ਭਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਲਾਸ਼ੇਰੀ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਆਮ ਜਨਤਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੈਸੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਲ ਭਿੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਹੋਰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੇਕਰ ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਬੱਚਾ ਭਿੱਖਿਆ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਚਾਈਲਡ ਹੈਲਪਲਾਈਨ ਨੰਬਰ 1098 'ਤੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਅੱਜ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਸਰਬਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ (ਮੈਂਬਰ, ਬਾਲ ਭਲਾਈ ਕਮੇਟੀ), ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਜਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ (ਸੁਪਰਵਾਈਜ਼ਰ, ਚਾਈਲਡ ਹੈਲਪਲਾਈਨ), ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ (ਸੁਪਰਵਾਈਜ਼ਰ, ਚਾਈਲਡ ਹੈਲਪਲਾਈਨ), ਅਕਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ (ਕੇਸ ਵਰਕਰ, ਚਾਈਲਡ ਹੈਲਪਲਾਈਨ), ਗੁਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ (ਕੇਸ ਵਰਕਰ, ਚਾਈਲਡ ਹੈਲਪਲਾਈਨ), ਏ.ਐੱਸ.ਆਈ. ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸੀ।
