The article highlights that “As a consumption State, Kerala used to garner 33% of its tax revenues from the 28% bracket. The Centre and Finance Commission must compensate the State for its revenue loss.”

The upcoming paper “Kerala’s Debt Story: From Pandemic Spike to Sustainable Path” by Dr Renjith P S, Assistant Professor at the Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation (GIFT), has been cited in The Hindu and The New Indian Express.

The study offers an in-depth analysis of Kerala’s fiscal trajectory, examining the post-pandemic debt dynamics and the State’s strategies for sustainable financial management.

Our research scholar, Niveditha P S, presented her paper titled “Rethinking Reserve Autonomy in the Global South: Currency Composition of International Reserves” at the Pre-G20 Conference organised by International Development Economics Associates in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The conference brought together over 100 policymakers, academicians, and young scholars from around the world to engage in critical discussions on global economic challenges and policy directions.
