On the eve of World Elephant Day, an awareness programme was conducted for students at the Elephant Enclosure of Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park, Tirupati. The students were educated about the importance of elephants in maintaining ecosystem balance, their ecological role, conservation status, and the threats faced by them in the wild. As part of the programme, an exhibition of old coins, currency notes and postage stamps featuring elephant symbols and images was arranged to highlight the cultural and historical significance of elephants. Students were also given an opportunity to feed the elephants under the supervision of zoo staff, making the occasion an informative and memorable learning experience.
