UCE, Osmania University Focuses on Excellence, Innovation & Global Competitiveness

The University College of Engineering (A), Osmania University, organised a comprehensive College Development and Felicitation Programme in the presence of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Sr. Prof. Kumar Molugaram.

Addressing students and faculty, the Vice-Chancellor encouraged UCE students to dream big and aspire for ₹1 crore-level career opportunities within the next 3–4 years, supported by strong skills, innovation, continuous learning and professional excellence.

💡 A major highlight was Internal Smart India Hackathon 2026, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from 384 students. Winners were honoured with cash awards, while participation certificates were presented to all participants.

The Vice-Chancellor emphasised stronger research, better national and international rankings, digital transformation, placements, infrastructure development and greater student participation in national and international competitions.

🏆 Distinguished faculty and awardees were felicitated during the programme, including the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Telangana State Best Teacher Award recipient Sr. Prof. G. Yesuratnam, and UCE Engineer of the Year Awardees.

The programme concluded with the inauguration of the new elevator at UCE, further strengthening accessibility and campus infrastructure.

Osmania University Hosts Seminar on JET Programme 🇮🇳🇯🇵

Osmania University organised a seminar on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme on 22 September 2026, in association with the Embassy of Japan in India.

Mr. Kobayashi Takashi, First Secretary, Embassy of Japan in India, addressed around 150 students and faculty members, highlighting opportunities for Indian graduates to work in Japan as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs).

The programme provided valuable insights into the application process, selection procedure and professional opportunities available in Japan.

Following the seminar, Mr. Kobayashi Takashi and university officials met the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University and briefed him about the JET Programme.

Osmania University has launched its “Digital Garden”, showcasing the remarkable floral diversity of its campus.

Developed by the Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation Studies, the portal was launched by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Sr. Prof. Kumar Molugaram.

🌍 Osmania University Explores Academic & Research Collaboration with University of Kent

Osmania University hosted Prof. Vicky Knight, Dean, Kent Business School, University of Kent, for an interactive meeting aimed at exploring new avenues of academic and research collaboration.

Chaired by Prof. Kumar Molugaram, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University, the meeting focused on faculty and student exchange, joint research initiatives, faculty matching and broader university-level collaboration.

The initiative reflects Osmania University’s continued efforts to expand its global academic and research partnerships.

Osmania University proudly celebrated Telangana Praja Palana Day on 17 September 2026 at the historic Arts College.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram hoisted the National Flag and paid tribute to the sacrifices of Telangana warriors who contributed to the region’s historic journey.

XV National Conference of AIUEC Inaugurated at Osmania University

The XV National Conference of the All India University Employees’ Confederation (AIUEC) on “Status of Higher Education” was inaugurated today at Tagore Auditorium, Osmania University, Hyderabad.

The three-day national conference, organised by the OU NGO’s Association, OU Staff Association and OU Technical Staff Association, has brought together nearly 400 national delegates and over 1,000 participants from university staff bodies across India.

The inaugural session emphasised strengthening higher education through modern infrastructure, educational reforms, increased funding, administrative efficiency and workforce development.

The conference will continue till September 12, with deliberations on policy changes, administrative reforms, research expansion and employee service matters.

🎓 85th Annual Convocation of Osmania University

Osmania University celebrated its 85th Annual Convocation on 8 September 2026 at the iconic Tagore Auditorium.

Hon’ble Governor of Telangana & Chancellor Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla presided over the Convocation. Dr. Krishna M. Yella, Executive Chairman, Bharat Biotech International Limited, was the Chief Guest.

Dr. Yella urged young graduates to become innovators, entrepreneurs and creators of solutions, making productive use of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.

The Hon’ble Governor called upon youth to become job creators, emphasising entrepreneurship, self-reliance and responsible citizenship.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram highlighted OU’s commitment to academic excellence, research, innovation and preparing students for a rapidly changing world.
