VMRDA Establishes Police Outpost at Kailasagiri

VMRDA, in coordination with the Police Department, has established a police outpost at Kailasagiri to enhance the safety and security of tourists and visitors.

The outpost was inaugurated by MLA Sri Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu, VMRDA Chairman Sri M.V. Pranav Gopal and City Police Commissioner Sri Shankhabrata Bagchi.

VMRDA is also planning an alternative ghat road to improve accessibility and traffic management amid increasing tourist footfall.

VMRDA Inaugurates Thumpala Convention Centre in Anakapalli

VMRDA has constructed a Convention Centre at Thumpala, Anakapalli, at a cost of approximately ₹4.40 crore to provide affordable and convenient facilities for middle-class and economically weaker families to conduct weddings and other auspicious functions.

The facility was inaugurated by MLA Sri Konathala Ramakrishna and VMRDA Chairman Sri M.V. Pranav Gopal, along with district officials and other dignitaries.

VMRDA will oversee the maintenance of the Convention Centre and introduce an online booking facility for public convenience.

🌳 VMRDA Inaugurates Telugu Thalli Central Park in Anakapalli!

VMRDA has developed the Telugu Thalli Central Park at Kothuru, Anakapalli, across approximately 5 acres at a cost of ₹5.40 crore, with modern amenities for the public. The park was inaugurated by MLA Sri Konathala Ramakrishna, VMRDA Chairman Sri M.V. Pranav Gopal, District Collector Smt. Vijaya Krishnan and other dignitaries.

🏞️ The park aims to provide a pleasant green space for recreation, relaxation and leisure.

🏏 VMRDA plans to invest an additional ₹3 crore to develop facilities including a lawn tennis court, skating rink, pickleball court, open-air theatre, box cricket turf and more.

Vizianagaram District Development Gets Major Boost Under VMRDA

VMRDA Chairman Sri M.V. Pranav Gopal said VMRDA is extending its development focus beyond urban areas, with emphasis on rural and municipal regions across Vizianagaram district.

With nearly ₹32 crore allocated over the past two years, VMRDA is supporting infrastructure development including roads, parks, drains, culverts, streetlights, drinking water facilities and community buildings.

In Vizianagaram Municipality, development works worth ₹11.17 crore and road development from Seetham College to JNTU worth ₹7.20 crore have been taken up.

Works are also progressing in Nellimarla, S. Kota, Gajapathinagaram and Cheepurupalli, based on the requests of local public representatives.

The Chairman, along with local MLA Smt. Aditi Vijayalakshmi Gajapathi Raju, inaugurated development works and unveiled the foundation stone in Vizianagaram.

He later inaugurated the PSR Park and Gandhi Park, developed with ₹1.17 crore, featuring greenery, walking pathways, gym equipment and play facilities for children.

Kailasagiri is being planned for comprehensive development to further enhance its appeal as a major tourism destination in Visakhapatnam. VMRDA In-Charge Metropolitan Commissioner Sri Ketan Garg, IAS, inspected Kailasagiri and reviewed the proposed development works.

He directed officials to develop the alternative Ghat Road, prepare proposals for an Energy Park and a 25-room resort, and incorporate future requirements into the Kailasagiri Master Plan.

The Commissioner also inspected the proposed park site at Thotlakonda and reviewed various VMRDA layouts, including their progress, infrastructure facilities and proposed development works.
