Comanche Troop 5-4 Cavalry 2ABCT, 1ID
On 28 March, 2008, E Troop 4th Cavalry returned from Germany and expanded to become the 5th Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment. 5-4 Cav is organized as a heavy reconnaissance squadron equipped with Bradley armored scout vehicles. 5-4 Cav is assigned to the 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team (HBCT), 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, KS.

Comanche Troop, along with the rest of 5-4 Cavalry, is currently deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn. Comanche Trp has taken on an Advise and Assist role for this mission.
