Strengthening infrastructure management through real-time data

Reliable infrastructure management depends on timely and accurate information. Through Unite , enables UN entities and field missions to monitor critical infrastructure and assets in real time, providing data on resource consumption, system performance and operating conditions. FRIM monitors a wide range of infrastructure, including generators, fuel tanks, water and power meters, photovoltaic systems, UPS units and environmental sensors. This data is already supporting concrete operational results across the UN system: optimizing generator sizing through peak-load analysis, reducing energy waste, strengthening fuel accountability, monitoring water and energy consumption, and improving resource planning.

In 2026, FRIM consolidated its global monitoring operations, supporting 43,666 monitored tags and 9,021 sensors across 22 UN entities and field missions. By providing a clearer picture of infrastructure performance and resource use, FRIM supports more efficient, accountable and evidence-based management of UN operations.

Managing contractor performance consistently starts with giving users the right tools—and a shared way to use them.
In June 2026, the United Nations Global Service Centre ( ) Field Contract Management (FCM) team introduced a structured quarterly training programme for users of the Instant Feedback System (IFS) and the Contractor Performance Reporting Tool (CPRT), two web-based tools that support contractor performance monitoring, compliance, data collection and reporting.
During its first quarter, the programme reached 250 participants from 21 United Nations entities, replacing reactive, request-driven sessions with a predictable and standardized approach to training.
The new model provides a more consistent learning experience across stakeholders while reducing the effort required to organize and deliver individual sessions. By helping users access the same guidance and use the same tools, it supports more effective contract performance management across the Organization.
