Villa Saletta is a testament to centuries of Tuscan history. Once owned by the Riccardi family, it covers an area of approximately 1700 acres which includes the original medieval village, agricultural land principally vineyards and olive groves and a number of farmhouses. Three of these farmhouses have been lovingly restored and converted into luxurious holiday villas with private swimming pools. Our w**es are produced using traditional methods and are becoming recognised as amongst the best Tuscany has to offer.

An early harvest, a few surprises, and the people who make it all possible.

Our 2026 harvest began two weeks ahead of usual, with yields right where we hoped they would be. David’s first impressions? Outstanding Cabernet Franc and Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon shaped by each vineyard, and a lighter, fresh Sangiovese.

A glimpse into the harvest, grape by grape 🍇

As David would tell:

Stunning Cabernet Franc and outstanding Merlot. Cabernet Sauvignon varies across the vineyards, with the strongest results shaped by vineyard exposure and vine age.
Sangiovese brings plenty of freshness and a lighter, more delicate character this year.

The story of Villa Saletta’s revival began in 2000, when Guy and Julia Hands encountered an extraordinary Tuscan estate that had almost fallen into ruin.
They saw beyond its abandoned buildings to its remarkable history, beauty and potential, and began the long journey of bringing its land and legacy back to life.

And, as the family story goes, a memorable plate of tomato pasta may have played its own small part.
