Embassy of Belgium in Rome - Permanent Representation to FAO, WFP and IFAD

🇧🇪🤝🇮🇹 Ambassador Andy Detaille visited Naval Air Station Sigonella, where a Belgian detachment and unmanned aerial systems are currently deployed in support of a NATO exercise. He also met with the Italian deputy Base Commander to discuss the strategic role of Sigonella and the strong cooperation between Belgium, Italy and NATO Allies. 🛡️

The visit took place alongside members of the Belgian Parliament’s Defence Committee, providing an opportunity to engage with Belgian personnel and learn more about their contribution to Allied readiness and collective defence👏Our sincere thanks to the men and women serving with professionalism and dedication

🇧🇪🤝🇮🇹 L’Ambasciatore Andy Detaille ha visitato la Naval Air Station Sigonella, dove un distaccamento belga e sistemi aerei senza pilota sono attualmente schierati nell’ambito di un’esercitazione NATO. Ha inoltre incontrato il Vice Comandante italiano della base per discutere del ruolo strategico di Sigonella e della solida cooperazione tra Belgio, Italia e gli Alleati della NATO. 🛡️

La visita si è svolta insieme ai membri della Commissione Difesa della Camera dei Rappresentanti del Belgio, offrendo l’opportunità di incontrare il personale belga e approfondire il loro contributo alla prontezza operativa dell’Alleanza e alla difesa collettiva. 👏 Un sentito ringraziamento alle donne e agli uomini che prestano servizio con professionalità e dedizione.

A great honour for me to present my credentials to the Captain-Regents of the Republic of San Marino today during a beautiful ceremony steeped in history. San Marino is a small nation on the cusp of deepening its ties to the EU by signing a very ambitious Association Agreement which we very much welcome.

È stato per me un grande onore presentare oggi le mie credenziali ai Capitani Reggenti della Repubblica di San Marino nel corso di una splendida cerimonia ricca di storia.

Currently, the “Festival Cabanes” is taking place in the gardens of Villa Medici - Villa Médicisi. Brussels’ BENTO Architecture built a dome shaped hut entirely out of funghi, it is really a thing not to be missed! The Ambassador and his wife paid a visit upon invitation of Director Sam Stourdzé and also ran into Vinciance Despret, a Walloon author of considerable renown.

Per il momento a luogo a Roma il “Festival Cabanes” a Villa Medici - Villa Médicis. BENTO Architecture di Bruxelles hanno creato una capanna con dei funghi, una cosa da non mancare! L’Ambasciatore e la sua moglie hanno visitato la creazione su invito del Direttore Sam Stourdzé e hanno incontrato lo scrittore famoso belga Vinciane Despret.

Isola Comacina was gifted to Belgium after WWI. We handed it back with the request that chalets would be built for artists’ residences. This project took shape after WWII and until 2019 Belgian and Italian artists came to seek inspiration in this wonderful place. Soon works will start all over the island so the artist’ stays can happen again. The ambassador together with the mayor, the honorary consul, the president of the foundation and WBI’s Michele Pili went on a field visit.

Isola Comacina fu regalato al Belgio dopo la prima guerra mondiale ma restituito all’Italia con lo scopo di costruire dei alloggi per artisti. Questo progetto ha preso forma dopo la seconda guerra mondiale e fino al 2019 artisti belgi e italiani hanno preso ispirazione da questo luogo. Molto presto i lavori coinvolgeranno tutta l’isola per ospitare più artisti. L’Ambasciatore insieme al sindaco, il console onorario, il presidente della fondazione e Michele Pili di WBI hanno partecipato alla visita.
