Il documento fornisce il quadro teorico e metodologico della prova INVALSI sulle competenze digitali, collocandola nel contesto della trasformazione digitale della società e del sistema educativo. Le competenze digitali non sono intese come semplici abilità tecniche, ma come competenze critiche, etiche e trasversali, fondamentali per l’apprendimento, la cittadinanza attiva e la riduzione delle disuguaglianze.

Nell’ambito del Dottorato di interesse nazionale in “Teaching & Learning Sciences: Inclusion, Technologies, Educational Research and Evaluation”, si terrà una giornata di approfondimento dedicata ai temi della valutazione educativa e della ricerca empirica in ambito scolastico.
Il seminario affronterà diversi aspetti legati alle Prove INVALSI, dalle loro basi metodologiche ai processi di standard setting, fino alla lettura e interpretazione dei risultati.

Tra gli interventi previsti:

📚 Oggi, presso la Biblioteca INVALSI “Aldo Visalberghi”, si è svolta la presentazione del volume “L’inclusione scolastica degli studenti con disabilità”, a cura di Tommaso Agasisti e Luigi D’Alonzo.

L’incontro ha rappresentato un’importante occasione di confronto su uno dei temi più centrali per il sistema educativo: costruire una scuola realmente inclusiva, capace di valorizzare ogni studente e ogni studentessa attraverso pratiche educative, organizzative e formative sempre più consapevoli ed efficaci.

Nel corso del dibattito sono emerse riflessioni, evidenze ed esperienze utili a leggere le sfide dell’inclusione sul piano pedagogico e nella prospettiva della governance scolastica, della formazione dei docenti e delle politiche educative.

Un sentito ringraziamento ai relatori e alle relatrici e a tutte le persone che hanno partecipato in presenza e online contribuendo alla qualità del confronto.

📢 CALL FOR PANEL – Conference “Evaluation and Research in Education”
📍 Lecco (Italy) | 4–6 November 2026

INVALSI, in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano, invites the national and international scientific community to submit Panel proposals for the Conference “Evaluation and Research in Education”.
The Conference aims to promote discussion on the use of educational data - including those produced by INVALSI and other agencies - to better understand educational systems and support evidence-based research and policymaking.

🔎 Topics include:
• Digital competences, learning and citizenship
• Educational inequalities and equity
• Artificial intelligence in educational research
• Teachers and complex school contexts
• Educational poverty
• Integrated use of data
• Gender gaps, migration, social mobility, and more

📌 Panel proposals should include:
✔ One or two Scientific Coordinators
✔ Session title
✔ Three keywords
✔ A description (250–500 words)

The Conference will bring together researchers, policymakers, school leaders, teachers, and experts interested in the analysis of educational systems through empirical and multidisciplinary research approaches.

In an increasingly complex educational landscape, access to and conscious use of data is key to understanding learning processes, reducing inequalities and supporting informed decision-making at instructional, institutional and policy levels. This volume, which collects a selection of contributions presented at the IX Seminar, “Data from and for educational system: tools for research and teaching” (Rome, 17–19 October 2024), explores how different data sources can contribute to a deeper understanding of how educational systems function, helping to improve students’ educational and professional opportunities. Although the four chapters differ in terms of their methods, research questions and reference contexts, they are united by a common perspective: the importance of data as both an interpretative and an operational tool. Together, the four chapters offer a multifaceted perspective on the value of data in understanding educational phenomena, both in and out of the classroom. They demonstrate how various methodological approaches, such as psychometrics, multivariate statistical analysis, administrative data integration and predictive modelling, can converge towards the shared objective of developing more equitable, informed and responsive educational systems that better address the needs of students and society.
