🌊 Immerse yourself in the installations From My Mother’s Country and Weaving Connections, part of the exhibition Tide of Returns, commissioned and produced by TBA21–Academy.

📚 Explore the theme of the Rights of Nature through archival materials, case studies, and documentaries from the initiative Nature Speaks. Listening for Rights of Nature in Venice and Across Europe.

✨ At 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm, join one of our free guided tours led by our cultural mediators.

🗓️ Domenica 28 giugno, 17:00 – 19:00, ospitiamo la replica del concerto-performance “Con falci d’amore (nenia per il nuovo millennio)” di Giorgiomaria Cornelio, parte del programma pubblico del Padiglione Italia alla Biennale Arte 2026.

Cornelio presenta un testo inedito in cui la sua voce si unisce a quelle dell’Arcicoro di Venezia e alle musiche di Roberto Paci Dalò, creando un dispositivo poetico-performativo che dà vita a una foresta acustica abitata da “toni minori” e paesaggi e che esplora il sogno come spazio di trasformazione collettiva.

Realizzato nell’ambito del Padiglione Italia alla 61° Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte – La Biennale di Venezia, promosso dalla Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea del Ministero della Cultura. Si ringrazia Banca Ifis per le attività che accompagnano il Padiglione Italia.

🗓️ Sunday, June 28, 5–7pm, Ocean Space hosts the repeat of "With Scythes of Love (Lullaby for the New Millennium)" by Giorgiomaria Cornelio, presented as part of the public programme of the Italian Pavilion at the 2026 Venice Art Biennale.

Cornelio presents a new, previously unpublished text in which his voice merges with those of the Arcicoro di Venezia and the music of Roberto Paci Dalò, creating a poetic and performative device that brings to life an acoustic forest inhabited by “minor tones” and evocative landscapes, while exploring dreams as a space for collective transformation.

Event realized for the Italian Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia, promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture. Thanks to Banca Ifis for supporting the activities of the Italian Pavilion.

In collaborazione con Fie a Manetta, ci lasceremo guidare da spore, muffe, funghi e agenti non-umani per scoprire il loro lavoro che sostiene Venezia ma resta invisibile ai nostri occhi.

Continueremo a parlare di schisce e dei luoghi dove si consumano, rivelatori di geografie umane e più-che-umane non compaiono in nessuna mappa.

❗ Per poter partecipare alla gita è fondamentale completare l’iscrizione a Fie a Manetta (link sul nostro sito) entro il 18 Giugno. In caso contrario saremo costretti a riassegnare il vostro posto.

📍 Meeting point: the canal in front of Campo San Lorenzo

In collaboration with Fie a Manetta, we will let spores, molds, fungi, and other non-human agents guide us as we uncover the invisible work they perform in sustaining Venice.

We will continue our conversations around schiscie (packed lunches) and the places where they are eaten — sites that reveal human and more-than-human geographies absent from any map.

❗ To take part in the excursion, it is essential to complete your registration with Fie a Manetta (link available on our website) by June 18. Otherwise, we will unfortunately have to reassign your spot.

Realizzata in congiunzione con l’iniziativa Nature Speaks, la pubblicazione approfondisce le prospettive filosofiche e i precedenti internazionali del movimento globale che promuove il riconoscimento dei diritti della natura, documentando il percorso che ha portato alla Dichiarazione dei Diritti della Laguna di Venezia.

Interverranno Amalia Rossi, co-curatrice di Nature Speaks, e Francesco Danesi della Sala, Dottore di Ricerca in Antropologia Culturale e Sociale.

Produced in conjunction with the initiative Nature Speaks, the publication explores the philosophical foundations and international precedents of the global movement advocating for the recognition of the rights of nature, while documenting the process that led to the Declaration of the Rights of the Venice Lagoon.

Leading us in this presentation will be Amalia Rossi, co-curator of Nature Speaks, and Francesco Danesi della Sala, PhD in Cultural and Social Anthropology.

Alle ore 19:00, 20:00 e 21:00, le visite approfondiranno la storia della ex Chiesa di S. Lorenzo e le attività di Ocean Space e affronteranno i temi dei progetti espositivi di quest’anno.

In a unique evening atmosphere, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition “Tide of Returns” and the initiative “Nature Speaks. Listening for Rights of Nature in Venice and Europe”.

🌙 Throughout the evening, audiences can join one of three free guided tours led by Ocean Space’s cultural mediators.

At 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm, the tours will delve into the history of the former Church of San Lorenzo, introduce Ocean Space’s activities, and explore the themes and questions at the heart of this year’s exhibition projects.

📯 OPEN CALL 📯 Tentacular Fellowship 2026–2028

TBA21–Academy / Ocean Space, in collaboration with NICHE Centre for Environmental Humanities and the Unesco Chair on Water, Heritage and Sustainable Development at Ca' Foscari University, launches the first edition of the Tentacular Fellowship, a two-year research fellowship based at Ocean Space in Venice.

The fellowship supports experimental and community-oriented practices that activate regenerative processes with a tangible eco-social impact on the Venetian Lagoon.

The selected professional or collective will have the opportunity to initiate, consolidate, or expand a situated initiative in the Lagoon through the creation of a Tentacular Unit: a collaborative platform bringing together artists, researchers, institutions, and local communities around a specific socio-environmental challenge.

🐙 Who can apply
The open call is addressed to professionals and collectives from any field — including artistic, curatorial, research-based, spatial, ecological, pedagogical, or community-based practices. Interdisciplinary applicants interested in developing initiatives connected to the ecological, social, and cultural conditions of the Venetian Lagoon are especially encouraged to apply.
