Did you know? The miniature sheet artwork from The Jersey Dairy Industry illustrated by Chris Wormell features a milkmaid wearing a sun bonnet. The Jersey sun bonnet was built over a structure of canes which supported its shape and was then tied with a ribbon under the chin.

Did you know? This year celebrates the 70th anniversary of the EUROPA project that brings together PostEurop members together each year to commemorate a particular joint theme.

Klaus Welp, who won the total amounts of votes from PostEurop members is the artist behind this year’s EUROPA stamp. Speaking on what inspired his design, he said:

“It was an honour to participate in this design competition and celebrate the 70th anniversary of PostEurop with this small piece of graphic art. As a designer, it is immensely gratifying to know that this stamp will be printed and published in so many European countries and shared across the globe.”

Did you know? Queen Elizabeth II made six official visits to the Channel Islands between 1949 and 2005.

During a visit to the States Chamber in Jersey she spoke warmly of the Island, stating that she “cherished and greatly valued the ancient ties that bind together the Crown and people of this island.”
