Wellbeing is everywhere - but are we getting it right?
With just over two months to go until World WellBeing Week 2025 (23rd to 27th June), it’s the perfect time to pause and ask:
If wellbeing weeks don’t always work - why does this one matter?
In a world where wellbeing can be reduced to fruit bowls and free apps, we risk missing the point. A “wellbeing day” without a workload shift can leave people more stressed, not less. One-size-fits-all solutions often fall flat. And if we’re not careful, wellbeing becomes a box we tick - instead of a culture we build.
So why World WellBeing Week?
Because when done right, a week can spark lasting change.
It’s a moment to reflect, to reconnect, and to reimagine how we lead - with care, clarity, compassion, and courage.
This year’s theme?
“Beyond the Buzzwords: Building Real Cultures of Care.”
Why?
While the word ‘wellbeing’ is everywhere, the experience of wellbeing still isn’t.
But when we listen, when we collaborate, and when we lead with intention, we can create real, lasting change.
And that’s where YOU come in.
Be part of a movement that has achieved over 50 million impressions globally in previous years.
Wherever you are and whatever you do, let’s show the world what’s possible when we go beyond the buzzwords … and build cultures of genuine care.
Our Founder’s article looks at how to make this week meaningful - for you, your business, and the people you support - and why now, more than ever, wellbeing still matters.
Wellbeing Weeks Alone Aren’t Enough - But They Can Be a Catalyst - WellBeing World Let’s acknowledge a truth we’ve seen play out again and again: A single week - no matter how inspiring - won’t fix systemic issues. It won’t compensate for a culture of overwork or a lack of psychological safety. It won’t transform how people feel if it’s not backed by action,…

Interesting debate just now on LinkedIn …
What is the “future of work”? How do you identify the skills your organisation will need in the future?
“Reacting to changes rather than following a process to identify future skills puts organisations at risk of falling behind. Not having the right future skills in place can negatively affect a company’s performance. It can reduce innovation, increase talent costs, lower quality and customer service standards, and make it much more difficult to pursue market opportunities” (PwC, 2019).
What are The Top 10 skills for 2025?
Clearly creative problem solving, leadership & influence skills, emotional intelligence and learning agility are all essential skills we need cultivate given the speed of change in our world.
Over the past five years, the World Economic Forum has tracked the arrival of the Future of Work, identifying the potential scale of worker displacement due to technological automation and augmentation alongside effective strategies for empowering job transitions from declining to emerging jobs
With the workforce of the future heading into new, undiscovered territory it's important to look beyond the headlines and examine the data behind the trends. Reading headlines won’t give you the information needed to make informed decisions and position the organisation for success in the future.
“Organisations must be able to meet the needs of multiple generations and influence a mixture of workers across demographics, technological skills, and employment contracts.” - McLean & Company

Great article explaining what we will need to do moving forward to attract and retain employees.
Research shows that reasons for recently leaving a job include: not having caring leaders (35%), not having sustainable work expectations (35%), and a lack of career development and advancement potential (35%).
The fixes are going to involve leaders building personal relationships; creating more social interactions; supporting personal and professional growth; and creating sustainable working practices that support wellbeing.
All common sense really but many leaders will need to change their leadership playbook to achieve it.
Money can’t buy your employees’ loyalty The old employee engagement playbook is no longer enough to keep people. Instead, leaders must strengthen the holistic employee experience in the ‘new’ working world.
