On 17 June, border police and customs officers from Normandy and Brittany travelled to Jersey, led by the Sub Prefect of St Malo Mr Jean-Bernard Iché, for the annual meeting with Guernsey and Jersey counterparts.
The teams discussed the future regulations and new regulations coming in force in the respective territories and attended the presentation of the Port of St Helier's development projects. They also met with the French honorary Consul Pierre Chays.
This annual meeting helps to maintain good operational communication between the respective teams.

The Government of Jersey continues to work with the UK Home Office and airlines to resolve operational issues linked to the introduction of the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system.
A small number of non-British and non-Irish Jersey residents have been wrongly denied boarding when travelling, despite holding valid immigration permission to travel. This has occurred because some airlines and ground handlers have misinterpreted ETA requirements or experienced difficulties verifying Jersey issued permissions within their systems.
To be clear: Jersey residents who hold valid immigration permission issued by the Jersey Customs and Immigration Service (JCIS) do not need an ETA to travel.
Residents are encouraged to carry all their relevant immigration documents when travelling and to check the latest guidance: https://bit.ly/42VGaf3
If you’re travelling to Jersey or the UK and the airline won’t let you board, ask them to call the UK's Carrier Support Hub (CSH). It’s open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They can also check Timatic, a system which airlines use worldwide to confirm travel document rules.
