🏆Congratulations to Spr Dan Robson!

On 5 September, Dan claimed victory in the Swim Run Jersey event; an epic endurance challenge covering 53km around the Island - including stages totalling 46km of running and 7km of swimming.

Winning this gruelling event has earned Dan qualification for the Swim Run World Championships 2027.

An outstanding achievement and a testament to determination, resilience and fitness. Well done, Dan. 👏🏆

This week we say farewell to one of our Warrant Officers after many years of dedicated service: first in the Regular Army and then continuing his commitment in the Army Reserve. His leadership, experience, and dedication have made a lasting impact on the Squadron, and he has played a key role in developing and mentoring countless Sappers along the way.

We have been showcasing some of our equipment and highlighting the exciting and challenging opportunities the Jersey Field Squadron has to offer members living in the Channel Islands.

Army Reserves: Bridges, Boats and Ice Cream!

We have been making the most of the summer heat, spending a weekend building bridges, getting out on the assault boats and developing valuable engineering skills. With ice cream breaks to keep cool, we rounded off with a social evening watching the football. A great mix of training, teamwork and enjoying the sunshine.

Jersey Field Squadron members in Guernsey recently visited HMS EXPLORER, a Royal Navy patrol vessel used to train crew in navigation and piloting for service on larger ships.
Taking advantage of Guernsey's challenging tides and rock formations, the crew have been honing their skills in local waters. Our Sappers enjoyed meeting the crew and learning more about life and training at sea. ⚓🛥

We’re looking forward to this year’s Armed Forces Day! 💂🏻‍♂️⚔️🇬🇧🇯🇪

We are proud to announce that the Jersey Field Squadron (Royal Engineers) will be taking part in this year’s Armed Forces Day celebrations in St Helier on Saturday 27 June.

As Jersey’s only military unit, the Squadron carries a proud heritage that stretches back centuries. Its roots can be traced to the old Jersey Militia, whose members played a crucial role in defending the Island during the Battle of Jersey in 1781. On that historic day, local forces stood firm to repel a French invasion, cementing a legacy of courage and service that continues today.

Through its connection to the Corps of Royal Engineers, the Squadron shares in a distinguished record of service across major conflicts including both World Wars, as well as more recent operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Royal Engineers have been at the forefront of modern military operations — providing combat engineering, route clearance, bomb disposal, bridge building, infrastructure construction and humanitarian support in some of the most challenging environments around the world.

Today, the Jersey Field Squadron continues that vital role. As Army Reservists, its members balance civilian careers with military training and operational readiness. They provide specialist engineering support to the British Army and stand ready to assist the Island in times of emergency, offering resilience and community support when needed.

Armed Forces Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate this remarkable legacy and to recognise the service and sacrifice of all those who serve and have served.
