Day 2 | Jamaica Diaspora Conference 2026
Day 2 at the 11th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference did not disappoint! The energy at the Montego Bay Convention Centre was electric as we continued connecting with Jamaicans from across the globe.
A true highlight of the day…we were honoured to welcome Prime Minister, the Most Honourable Andrew Holness, to our booth!
We took the opportunity to speak directly with members of the diaspora, walking them through our services and how we can support them, whether they’re back home or abroad. The conversations were rich, the interest was real, and the connections made were invaluable.
To every Jamaican who stopped by — thank you. Educating and serving our diaspora community is at the heart of what we do, and days like these remind us exactly why. 💚💛🖤

Declare it before you fly. Bring it out, bring it back, no stress.
Jamaica Customs has never seized JMD $100,000 from a passenger ... and here’s why.
The Agency recognizes that the vast majority of travellers are honest, law-abiding individuals. Our focus is on persons carrying large sums of money who cannot satisfactorily explain their source or demonstrate that it was obtained through legitimate means.
Bringing cash to Jamaica? No problem.
There is NO LIMIT on the amount of money you can bring into or take out of Jamaica.
If you’re carrying USD $10,000 or more (or its equivalent in any currency), simply declare it. The process is quick, straightforward, and required by law.
Jamaica Customs welcomes legitimate travellers and returning residents. Our focus is not on honest visitors, but on identifying and disrupting the movement of illicit funds linked to criminal activity.
✅ Bring your money.
✅ Declare what the law requires.
✅ Enjoy Jamaica.

Clearing a barrel in Jamaica and nobody told you about ALL the payments? It’s not just Customs. There’s the warehouse. There’s the port. Fees most people don’t find out about until they’re standing right there with the wrong amount of money.
