: Education & Training

We share a special 'Happy Teachers Day' shoutout to our Education & Training team.

If you joined us to learn JSL you probably know one or two of these faces. See anyone you know?

This team helps to bring JSL to the public, supports our school staff with JSL and Deaf education training and resources, and executes annual literacy and numeracy assessments throughout our schools.

Respect starts with using the right terminology! Watch and learn signs for the correct terms to use when referring to the Deaf community.

βœ… Deaf
βœ… Hard of hearing
❌ Hearing impaired
❌ Handicap
❌ Dumb
❌ Mute

Let’s promote awareness and respect for the Deaf community.

Step 1: get a hearing assessment done
Step 2: discuss your options with a hearing healthcare professional at JADHS.

Whether the discussion is about hearing conservation (noise reduction), amplification (a hearing aid), or referral to support (school placement, JSL learning, or parent engagement), it all starts with a hearing test.

Remember JADHS has a special discount until May 2026 for children aged 1 to 15 years. Contact the team to book your appointment today.
