As part of the British High Commissioner’s ongoing parish visits across Jamaica, we connected with communities, celebrated local heritage, and experienced the very best of Trelawny 🇬🇧🤝🇯🇲

At Falmouth All Age School, children received school supplies from British High Commission staff and partners, along with a generous donation of football gear from . Thank you for helping to inspire the next generation through sport and opportunity. ⚽❤️

This week, the British High Commission in Kingston 🇬🇧🇯🇲 hosted the launch of the PASSAGE, a major initiative led by The National Archives (UK) and funded through a £1 million grant from the Lloyd’s Register Foundation to support new research into the history of transatlantic slavery.

Through PASSAGE, researchers, archivists and institutions across the Caribbean, West Africa and the UK will collaborate to deepen understanding of shared histories, strengthen archival partnerships and improve access to historical records. Jamaican institutions, as well as those in the wider Caribbean and West Africa will receive a significant share of £450,000 in programme funding (approximately JMD $91 million).
