Every ending is a new beginning.
I am happy to have had the privilege to serve the people of Jamaica as your Political Ombudsman. From the beginning of my term in 2015 to its end today November 15, 2022.

I have done my very best to live up to your expectations and those of my predecessor. I feel honoured to have been placed in this post and thank you the Jamaican people for your support as the Governor General allowed me the opportunity serve you in this capacity. Let us continue our journey to creating better politics, good governance and a better democracy for ourselves and the present and future of Jamaica, our children.

. International Democracy Day was first observed in 2008 following a UN resolution by Qatar, which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. It calls for governments to promote or consolidate new or restored democracies.

International Democracy Day reminds us to develop our democracy with the ideas of political freedom, electoral integrity, good governance and the rule of law. We can enhance this by practising the same principles in the home, at church, at school, at work, and in our social interactions, marked by respect, equality, and problem-solving.
