Big transformations are happening in small places!

At Sherwood Forest Primary and Infant School, a 70-student institution tucked away in Fairy Hill, Portland, technology is opening doors to new learning experiences and possibilities.

We recently visited the school to witness the impact of the devices distributed by the Ministry of Education & Youth through e-Learning Jamaica Company Limited and the results speak for themselves. From enhanced classroom engagement to greater access to digital learning, students and teachers are embracing a more connected future.

Special education institutions were the focus of e-Learning Jamaica's 2026 Labour Day Efforts.

Through collaboration with the Jamaica Teachers' Association, Belmont Park Primary School in Portmore were provided with a smartboard, 20 tablets, laptops and other electronic devices for use in enhancing the teaching-learning process at the school.

This was amongst 4 other Labour Day projects undertaken by the two institutions, aligning with e-Learning Jamaica's mandate of providing e-Access to learning for all.

Labour Day 2026 is being celebrated under the theme : "One People, One Purpose: In All Things, Jamaica Wins."

e-Learning Jamaica Company Limited in collaboration with the Jamaica Teachers' Association distributed a number of devices to the Belmont Park Primary School in Portmore as a part of this year's Labour Day activities .

This formed a part of the collaborative efforts of the two institutions to provide well needed electronic devices to 5 special needs institutions across the island. The other beneficiaries were ; Lucea School of Hope, Woodland School of Special Education, St. Christopher's School for the Deaf and the Aligne Academy Group of Schools.

The Launch of the e-Learning Jamaica/ Linton Park Primary and Infant School Resource Centre marked a significant step towards enhancing not only teaching and learning at the institution, but also providing a valuable resource hub for families and the broader Linton Park Community.

Through the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information and e-Learning Jamaica Company Limited, the school was provided with laptops, tablets, an interactive panel, a charging cart and Starlink internet access.
