Today (21apr26), Roberto Canseco, Ambassador of Mexico to Jamaica had a courtesy call in Kingston, with Ambassador Gillian Bristol, director of Latin American-Caribbean Centre (LACC) of the University of West Indies (UWI), to discuss the importance of the launching of the Third Edition of the “Mexico-Jamaica Chair”, as well as bilateral cultural projects at the UWI, in particular, collaboration for Mexican and Latin American movie screenings at UWI Campus Mona, and the promotion of knowledge about the lives of Mexican and Latin American heroes and heroines among students.

Este ejercicio ayudará a identificar las necesidades actuales de la comunidad mexicana en Jamaica y Las Bahamas para definir estrategias puntuales.

informa que la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores () realizará en las embajadas y consulados de México en América Latina y el Caribe, del 23 al 27 de febrero de 2026, la "Jornada de Asesorías Legales Externas", para que un mayor número de mexicanas y mexicanos “Conozcan y Ejerzan sus Derechos”.

En este contexto, la Embajada de México en Jamaica () invita a la comunidad mexicana en Jamaica y en Las Bahamas a registrar del 23 al 27 de febrero de 2026, las necesidades de asesoría legal externa que puedan tener, en asuntos relativos a temas de derechos humanos, laborales, migratorios, familiares, penales y de violencia de género. Este ejercicio ayudará a identificar las necesidades actuales de la comunidad mexicana para definir estrategias puntuales.

is pleased to have participated (12feb26) in the inauguration of the Shortwood Teachers’ College’s “Modern Languages Day” in Kingston, Jamaica, thanking the staff of for their warm welcome. On the occasion, the Embassy utilised a cultural package which consisted of various artefacts including chaquira skulls (huichol art), handmade replicas of the Papantla Flyers and Chaipas dolls, as well as colourful sombreros, which were displayed on a booth accompanied by information about Mexico’s National Commission for Free Textbooks (CONALITEG). The booth also provided a QR code for Jamaican students and teachers to download the CONALITEG app. Additionally, several promotional videos from the Ministry of Tourism of Mexico were displayed and promoted. The event drew a large student audience and captured the attention of the Jamaican public, reinforcing cultural ties between🇲🇽🤝🇯🇲.
