Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Kedesha Campbell Rochester brought greetings at the 20th Anniversary celebration ceremony of Spirit Airlines operating flights to and from Jamaica, at the Norman Manley International Airport today (February 27,2026).

Delivering remarks Mrs. Campbell Rochester highlighted the Government of Jamaica’s vision for the aviation sector and reaffirmed the Ministry of Energy, Transport and Telecommunications’ commitment to its continued growth and modernization.

Mrs. Campbell Rochester noted that airlines such as Spirit play a critical role in driving economic development, strengthening connectivity, and creating opportunities for the people of Jamaica.

With our new Permanent Secretary , Mrs. Kedesha Campbell Rochester joining the team, we didn’t just show up — we showed our commitment to service, solidarity, and community impact.
Together, we ran and walked for the West-five (5) schools in the western parishes that were significantly impacted by Hurricane Melissa. Together, we made a difference.

Our airports will close over today and tomorrow as we prepare for the passage of . Today, will close at 7:00pm and will close at 9:00pm. All domestic aerodromes will also close today at 7:00pm

will close tomorrow at midday pending weather conditions to allow for extractions and emergency flights.
