PNP for West Central St. Catherine

How does this revelation match up to what the JLP is now saying about the prison deal? How does it compare with what Bruce Golding publicly declared? Did they not "recall"?

We welcome the selection of Councillor Devon Wint as the JLP standard bearer for the West Central St. Catherine constituency. We are prepared for the challenge and Devon Wint's record of service to the people of the Point Hill Division will certainly be examined. The challenges of the constituency remain basic. Infrastructure. Roads. Water. Electricity. Opportunity. Youth opportunity. Youth organisation.

The Point Hill Division is next door to the Ginger Ridge Division which is represented by John Wilson (PNP) in the St. Catherine Parish Council. Similar geography, demographics and issues; different outcomes. The difference exist in the quality of leadership offered.

We say Clinton Clarke of the PNP for West Central St. Catherine, the only choice.

The West Central St. Catherine constituency is geographically one of the largest in Jamaica. Its southeastern tip is located at the junction of St. John’s Road and Fairview Boulevard on the outskirts of Spanish Town; on the northeastern boundary, the communities of Giblatore and Wakefield on the outskirts of Bog Walk; northerly it ranges from Point Hill to Juan de Bolas to the Clarendon boundary, which is the constituency’s western boundary and on which you find the communities of Bellas Gate and Content; and southerly across the hills through Bartons, Macca Tree, Guanaboa Vale, Kitson Town and back down to St. John’s Road.
The constituency is divided into four Electoral Divisions: Ginger Ridge, Point Hill, Red Hills and Bellevue. Kenneth Baugh of the JLP represents the constituency in Parliament and has done so since 2002. The Point Hill, Red Hills and Bellevue Divisions are also represented by the JLP in the St. Catherine Parish Council. The Ginger Ridge Division is represented by the Deputy Mayor of Spanish Town, Councillor Ralston John Wilson of the PNP who has held the division since 2007.
The birthplace of the Most Honourable Portia Simpson-Miller, Prime Minister of Jamaica and President of the PNP is in Woodhall District in the constituency. The Right Excellent Norman Washington Manley, National Hero and founding father of the PNP, spent significant periods of his development in Guanaboa Vale in the constituency. Cudjoe, warrior, freedom fighter and leader of the maroons lived in the constituency.
