NO DAY IS AN OFF DAY

No days off,
Life in its ever constant motion,
Comes at us in a rush.
Endless conversations.
The bane of our diffident minds,
Constantly pounding our brains.
Convulsions of emotions,
Driving us insane.
For our minds are alive with phobia and paranoia.
Too many questions to which there are no answers.
Pulsating reminders of our insecurity.
Wrecking havoc with our conscience,
Eroding our confidence.
Why can’t we be free?
The turmoil inside we suppress.
But behind the smiles,
We feel so caged.
Trapped, we retreat.
Ashamed, self care is in disrepair.
And sleep becomes only a friend.
Giving us only a brief reprieve.
Because awake the fears congregate.
As the meetings reconvene.
For in this maddening rush called life,
No day, is an off day.
