The Government has been consistently, openly and honestly communicating the economic challenges so that all Jamaicans understand that we are ALL in this together. Unlike previous Governments, my Administration has been consultative and have taken public sector workers into our confidence at every step of the way.

Public sector workers are represented in the Partnership for Jamaica, where all the stakeholders (Government, private sector, trade unions, and civil society) come together to discuss the affairs of the nation.

The place where industrial relations differences are settled is at the bargaining table. That is the nature of industrial relations practices which are enshrined in the laws of Jamaica. The place where the Police, Teachers and all public sector workers must be at this time is on the job and at the bargaining table so we can talk through the issues and resolve them.- PSM

FACE2FACE SERIES LAUNCH - A SUCCESS

Kingston, April 30, 2015: Team PNP wishes to thank the members of the public whose participation contributed to the successful launch of the Face2Face Series. The event, staged under the theme "We Want to Hear Your Voice" was held at the Auditorium of the Campion College in St. Andrew.
DGS Pryce in summing up the activities noted that:
"Four hundred chairs had been set out and at the peak of activities some attendees had to stand along the sides and back of the auditorium. We also used the opportunity to register attendees and capture information pertaining to demography, interests and specific concerns. An Evaluation Form was also circulated. The information gleaned will assist us in improving the levels of participation and the selection of presenters and topics as the series rolls out across the island."
In responding to queries as to whether the Party President, Prime Minister Simpson Miller will participate in any of the Town Hall meetings the simple response provided is:
"The Prime Minister and Party President will in fact be present at some of the meetings and will in her capacity as Prime Minister and Head of Government be participating in other related activities as part of our commitment to the principles of Participation, Accountability and Responsibility."
One of the tangible outcomes of the Face2Face Consultation Series will be the publication of documents reflecting the questions, answers and solutions derived from the participation of the audiences across the country.
The next stops in the series include Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth, Savannah-la-mar, Westmoreland and the Portmore Municipality. The presenters for each will be communicated to the public ahead of the events.
