Spreading Hope this Christmas - Portmore's Tree Lighting Ceremony
Our recent annual Tree Lighting Ceremony was a little different this year. In solidarity with those impacted by Hurricane Melissa, the Portmore City Municipality intentionally scaled down the festivities to redirect focus and resources toward relief and support efforts.
While the ceremony was modest, the tree remains a powerful symbol of Portmore’s resilience, unity, and hope. ✨
Now, we invite you and your loved ones to share in that spirit!
Come visit the Municipality office to enjoy our dazzling Christmas setup, a space dedicated to hope, family, and togetherness.
Visit Us: 📅 Starting Tomorrow (Friday, Dec 19): 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
📅 Weekends (Fri–Sun): 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Bring your family, take your photos, and let’s celebrate the true meaning of the season together.

After witnessing the lasting effects of Hurricane Melissa, the Portmore City Municipality made a second journey, this time to Petersfield, Westmoreland. The devastation across the community was profound, with countless families experiencing unimaginable loss.
In the face of such hardship, we were honoured to stand with our fellow Jamaicans once again. Through the support of Portmore’s residents, businesses, and partners, we delivered much-needed relief supplies and offered a hand of comfort and solidarity.
Every act of kindness strengthens our island. Every trip reminds us that Jamaica’s true power lies in its unity.
Together, we rise. Together, we care.
