The mission of every police is to make a difference at the end of every shift. Over in St. Catherine North, there is a police who has made it his personal mandate, to end every shift on a life changing note.

Meet Cons Joel Robinson, he is “built to build others”

In recent times, Cons Robinson encountered a student who was displaying maladaptive behavior at school and at home. He assumed a mentorship role and has been actively guiding his development. This young man, whose life was threatened by the nature of his associations, saw his life turned around working with Cons Robinson. He successfully completed high school and is now enrolled in a Heart NSTA Trust program.

The mission remains, strengthening the police reach and impact in our communities, as we build partnerships and healthy community relations. Cons. Robinson is instrumental in writing the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s story of bolstering community safety and security.

School Safety, The SCN Priority

DSP Ishmale Williams Territorial Officer and Sgt. Navelette Leachman led teams of School Resource Officers into schools across St. Catherine North Division to reassure our stakeholders that the police is ready to engage students for the academic year 2026/2027.

Their presence was a sign of reassurance. School Resource Officers in our schools make the environment safe for all. Here in St. Catherine, our visits to schools give us background information on which most of our social and school interventions are based.

The schools visited were Eltham High, Janathan Grant High, St. Catherine High, Innswood High, Spanish Town High, St. Johns Road Primary, Spanish Town Primary, Paul Mountain Primary, Kitson Town Primary, Guanaboa Vale Primary and Bendon Basic Schools. For this season of school, the team is committed to challenge students to be the best version of themselves by making better and safer choices.

The safety of our schools are our priority.

Welcome to our St. Catherine North's "NORTH SUNDAY" Feature.

Today we share the ministry of Deputy Superintendent of Police Ishmale Williams who gave a stellar performance at the launch of the SCN Cycle of Violence Initiative.

This initiative is designed to break generational curses of violent crimes and build safer communities. It employs a tripartied approach where the police and key stakeholders converge upon select communitues and conduct a Walkthrough, a Community Fair and Peace on the Pitch Football between the police and community members.

We are focused on resocializing our communities and we are aware that we need the help of Almighty GOD and partnership of our stakeholders to do so. We charge each of you to join the mission of securing a posterity for Spanish Town through prayer and strategies that will disrupt the cycle of violence, empower our people to choose peace over pressure and make our division inhabitable by all.

May this song bless your hearts and challenge you to continue interceding for Spanish Town and our nation.

We are on one mission and people are at the heart of it. Jamaica Constabulary Force, .

Fortifying Young Minds Against Gangs

Conversations with students reveal that mental health is not a one way street, there are many factors that contribute to how they respond in different circumstances.

Here is St. Catherine North these conversations don’t just fall on deaf ears, they inspire social programmes and drive meaningful change. Students from across the division convened on the Spanish Town Police Station to be engaged in our Strategic Workshop on Anti-gang Activities (SWAGA). This initiative lead by the Safe School Coordinator Cons Joel Robinson and School Resource Officer Cons. Lenardo Green focuses on empowering students to make better decisions, to strengthen their minds against gangs and other criminal activities and to improve their awareness on the correlation of gangs in the mental health of students.

Students were engaged by Commanding Officer SSP Hopton Nicholson, Acting Territorial Officer, Sgt. Kester Fennel and partnering agencies, National Council on Drug Abuse of the Ministry of Health and Wellness, and the Restorative Justice Programme under the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.

Drugs, conflicts, bullying and gangs are all negatively influencing the mental health of our students and the Jamaica Constabulary Force is resolute in this ONE cause to reach our children with ONE purpose to challenge their minds to build a better Jamaica.
