اليوم، 9 أيار، نحتفل بيوم أوروبا 🇪🇺

في الأردن، يحمل هذا اليوم معنى خاصًا من خلال الشراكة الممتدة بين الأردن والاتحاد الأوروبي. فقد أطلق الجانبان عام 2025 شراكة استراتيجية وشاملة تعكس عمق التعاون في مجالات الاستقرار، والتعليم، والتنمية الاقتصادية، والتحول الرقمي، ودعم اللاجئين، وتستند إلى علاقة طويلة الأمد تشمل اتفاقية الشراكة بين الأردن والاتحاد الأوروبي.

واليوم، بدأت هذه الشراكة تترجم إلى خطوات عملية وملموسة، من خلال تعزيز التعاون في مجالات التعليم وتنمية المهارات، والأمن وإدارة الهجرة، ودعم القدرة الاقتصادية على الصمود، بما يعكس التزامًا مشتركًا بتحويل الشراكة إلى نتائج تخدم الأردن والمنطقة.

وبالنسبة للسويد، يشكّل يوم أوروبا مناسبة للتذكير بمسيرتها داخل الاتحاد الأوروبي، إذ انضمّت السويد إلى الاتحاد عام 1995 بعد استفتاء شعبي، مع احتفاظها بعملتها الوطنية، الكرونة السويدية. كما تُعدّ اللغة السويدية إحدى اللغات الرسمية الـ24 للاتحاد الأوروبي.

Today, 9 May, we celebrate Europe Day 🇪🇺
In Jordan, this day carries special meaning through the longstanding partnership between Jordan and the European Union. In 2025, the two sides launched a Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership, reflecting the depth of cooperation in areas including stability, education, economic development, digital transformation, and support for refugees, building on a long-standing relationship that includes the EU-Jordan Association Agreement.

Today, this partnership has started delivering through practical and tangible steps, strengthening cooperation in education and skills development, security and migration management, and economic resilience, reflecting a shared commitment to turning partnership into results that benefit Jordan and the region.

For Sweden, Europe Day is also an opportunity to reflect on its own journey within the European Union. Sweden joined the EU in 1995 following a national referendum, while retaining its national currency, the Swedish krona. Swedish is also one of the EU’s 24 official languages.

🇸🇪🇪🇺🇯🇴 Sweden, as an EU Member State, continues to work with Jordanian partners to strengthen cooperation in education, innovation, sustainable development, and economic opportunities.

Without a free press, there is no democracy. Today, World Press Freedom Day, we’re highlighting the journalists who work under difficult circumstances to report the truth.

is one of the world’s largest donors to independent media. Free journalism is essential to countering disinformation and influence campaigns. At the same time, independent examination of those in power contributes to a healthy public debate, which is key to democratic development.

Through support to organisations in Europe and around the world, Sweden is helping to:
• strengthen independent journalism and freedom of expression
• enable examination and accountability
• ensure access to reliable information in times of war

Protecting journalists means protecting democracy.

HH Prince Mired, Chief Chamberlain and President of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), and Minister of Social Development Wafaa Bani Mustafa on Sunday signed a cooperation agreement to support the work of teams in transforming care centres into inclusive day-care centres.

The agreement also aims to provide personal assistance services, in a move that promotes the right of persons with disabilities to live independently and enhances their integration into society, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

⁨ 🌍🇸🇪🇯🇴 بمناسبة ، تسلط #السويد الضوء على التزامها المستمر بالقيادة المناخية العالمية. وبصفتها واحدة من أكبر الجهات المانحة لتمويل المناخ في العالم، تتولى السويد الرئاسة المشتركة لصندوق المناخ الأخضر خلال الفترة 2025–2026، بما يسهم في تعزيز جهود خفض الانبعاثات والتكيف مع تغير المناخ في البلدان النامية. وقد خصصت السويد 8 مليارات كرونة سويدية (763 مليون دولار أمريكي) لفترة التمويل الحالية للصندوق، تأكيدًا على قيادتها المناخية طويلة الأمد. ويتجلى ذلك في استثمارات مؤثرة مثل

مشروع الناقل الوطني للمياه في #الأردن، أحد أكبر المشاريع من نوعه في العالم، والذي سيساعد في تأمين الوصول إلى المياه لما يقارب نصف سكان الأردن، ويُظهر كيف يمكن لتمويل صندوق المناخ الأخضر الموجّه أن يعزز القدرة على الصمود في مواجهة تغير المناخ على نطاق واسع، إلى جانب مشاريع أخرى يدعمها الصندوق في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا.

إن أزمة المناخ عالمية، ومن مصلحة السويد أن تسهم في التحول الأخضر وفي تعزيز الطاقة الخالية من الوقود الأحفوري على مستوى العالم.

🌍🇸🇪🇯🇴 On , Sweden highlights its continued commitment to global climate leadership. As one of the world’s largest climate finance donors, Sweden is co-chairing the ‪‬ ( ) during 2025–2026, helping advance emissions reduction and climate adaptation in developing countries.

Sweden has committed SEK 8 billion (USD 763 million) to the GCF’s current funding period, underlining its long-term climate leadership. This is reflected in impactful investments such as the National Water Carrier Project, one of the world’s largest, which will help secure water access for nearly half of Jordan’s population and demonstrates how targeted GCF finance can deliver climate resilience at scale, alongside other projects supported by the Fund across the MENA region.

The crisis is global, and it is in Sweden’s interest to contribute towards the green transition and fossil-free energy worldwide.
