Rotary Club of Amman Philadelphia

The Rotary Club of Amman Philadelphia, in a joint meeting with the Rotary Club of Amman Cosmopolitan, was privileged to host His Excellency Eng. Sami Smairat, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, at a distinguished joint meeting attended by Rotarians and their guests.

During the session, His Excellency delivered an in-depth overview of key national initiatives led by the Government of Jordan, including the railway project in partnership with the United Arab Emirates, the National Water Carrier Project, and the National Consolidated Data Centre. He further highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing efforts in advancing digital transformation across public services, empowering the entrepreneurship ecosystem, and strengthening Jordan’s digital infrastructure and global technology partnerships.

The discussion reflected His Excellency’s extensive expertise and strategic vision, engaging attendees in a dynamic and informative dialogue throughout the meeting.

Past President Amjad Barqawi attended the meeting on behalf of the President of the Rotary Club of Amman Philadelphia, P. Rafat Swaidan, representing the club with other club members at this notable gathering.

وخلال الجلسة، قدّم معاليه عرضًا شاملًا حول أبرز المبادرات الوطنية التي تنفذها الحكومة الأردنية، بما في ذلك مشروع السكك الحديدية بالشراكة مع دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، ومشروع الناقل الوطني للمياه، ومركز البيانات الوطني الموحّد. كما استعرض دور الوزارة في دفع مسيرة التحول الرقمي في الخدمات الحكومية، ودعم منظومة الريادة والشركات الناشئة، وتعزيز البنية التحتية الرقمية وتوسيع الشراكات الدولية في قطاع التكنولوجيا.

وقد عكس الطرح عمق خبرة معاليه ورؤيته الاستراتيجية، حيث نجح في إشراك الحضور في نقاش تفاعلي ثري ومفيد طوال اللقاء.

وقد حضر الاجتماع نيابةً عن رئيس نادي روتاري عمان فيلادلفيا، السيد رأفت سويدان، الرئيس السابق أمجد برقاوي، ممثلًا النادي إلى جانب عدد من أعضائه في هذا اللقاء المميّز.

في هذا اليوم، نؤدي التحيّة لعلمنا الأردني، رمز العزّة والكرامة، سائلين المولى عزّ وجل أن يحفظ الأردن، وأن تبقى رايته خفّاقة عالية.

Amman, 1 April 2026 – The Rotary Club of Amman Philadelphia held its weekly meeting on Wednesday, featuring insightful presentations by PP. Farid Musharbash, PP. Amjad Barqawi, and Rtn. Ra’id Esso.

The club was pleased to welcome PP. Farid Musharbash, Country Conference Promotion Chair, who delivered a comprehensive overview of the upcoming District Conference to be held in Larnaca, Cyprus this May, highlighting its program and key activities.

Additionally, PP. Amjad Barqawi and Rtn. Ra’id Esso presented an informative session on the District Awards, outlining the various categories and explaining the application procedures for committee heads.

The meeting was attended by members of RC Amman Philadelphia, reflecting strong engagement and commitment toward upcoming Rotary initiatives.

On July 2, 2025, the Rotary Club of Amman Philadelphia held its handover ceremony at the Bristol Hotel. The event was honored by the presence of DDG Lina Kaara, AG Suhail Salti, and PAG Jihad Bashura.

During the ceremony, Past President Yazeed Al Abdallat proudly handed over the Rotary collar to the new President for 2025–2026, Ra’fat Sweidan, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for the club.

Adding to the evening's celebration, two new members, Dr. Ahmad Odeh and Nour AlHassanat, were warmly welcomed and officially pinned.

Spreading Joy This Ramadan & Eid!

In the spirit of Service Above Self, the Rotary Club of Amman Philadelphia distributed food parcels to families in need during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr.

With the support of Ms. Huda Al-Sobhi, Amman Municipality Council member for Zahran, and the "Ghosoon Zahran" Association, over 12 essential food items were provided in each parcel—bringing comfort and smiles to many homes.

Club President Mr. Yazid Al-Abdallat, along with Ms. Al-Sobhi and others, also toured the area to explore future collaborations on development projects for the community.

Together, we continue to uplift, support, and serve.

بروح الخدمة فوق الذات قام نادي روتاري عمان فيلادلفيا بتوزيع طرود غذائية على العائلات المحتاجة خلال شهر رمضان المبارك وعيد الفطر المبارك.

بدعم من السيدة هدى الصبحي عضو مجلس بلدية عمان لزهران وجمعية "غصون زهران" تم توفير أكثر من 12 مادة غذائية أساسية في كل طرد - تجلب الراحة والابتسامة للعديد من المنازل.

كما قام رئيس النادي السيد يزيد العبداللات مع السيدة الصبحي وآخرين بجولة في المنطقة لاستكشاف التعاونيات المستقبلية حول المشاريع التنموية للمجتمع.

Amman, 12 February 2024- The Rotary Club of Amman Philadelphia with the Rotary Club of Amman Metropolitan organised an event at the Bristol Hotel. This event featured a lecture on health and therapeutic nutrition, presented by nutrition expert Dana Bardakji. The Argonne Medical Group also conducted a comprehensive medical examination of the attendees. Attending the event were Deputy Governor Michel Fasha, AG Mai Omeish, President Yazeed Alabdallat , and President Sahm Altal. Additionaly, Deputy Governor Michel Fasha pinned Rotary Amman Philadephia new member Lina Abu Nuwar.

In attending of P.P Diala Alalmi and P.P Rosa Shahin They visited the Rotary Club Amman Philadelphia on February 5, and President Yazeed Al-Abdallat gave a detailed explanation of the club’s achievements and future plans. On Saturday, December 21st, the President and members of the Rotary Club of Amman Philadelphia launched their annual Winter Aid Campaign, a tradition they uphold every year during the festive season.

For the second consecutive year, the club donated aid vouchers to St. Nicholas Church in Marka, benefiting 35 families in the area, in coordination with Father Sophronius.

Additionally, the club supported the church’s “Bilzim Gheirak” initiative with in-kind donations.

This project reflects the club’s unwavering commitment to its social responsibility and dedication to ongoing humanitarian efforts within the local community.

Wishing the Rotary family a blessed and joyful year ahead.

قام رئيس وأعضاء من نادي روتاري عمان فيلادلفيا يوم السبت ٢١/ديسمبر، كعادته في كل عام، بإطلاق المشروع السنوي، حملة (معونة الشتاء)، بمناسبة الأعياد المجيدة.
حيث تم بالتبرع لكنيسة القديس نقولاوس في ماركا، وللعام الثاني على التوالي، بكوبونات مساعدات لعدد ٣٥ عائلة في المنطقة، بالتنسيق مع الاب صوفرونيوس.
كما تم دعم مبادرة (بيلزم غيرك) الخاصة بالكنيسة بتبرعات عينية.
يأتي هذا المشروع من باب التزام النادي وايمانه المطلق بمسؤوليته تجاه المجتمع المحلي، واستمرارا للمشاريع الإنسانية الدائمة التي يقوم بها النادي.
