The Saberhawks of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 77 fly the Navy’s most advanced helicopter, the MH-60R. Established in 1987 as HSL-47 in San Diego, California, the squadron relocated to Atsugi, Japan to join Carrier Air Wing FIVE after participating in numerous operations including Enduring Freedom, New Dawn and Unified Assistance.
