The main gate for vehicular traffic is now open for transit. Right and left turns are allowed but the street directly in front of the installation has been secured. Expect some traffic. The west gate has been closed but the east gate remains open for normal operations. Please continue to follow this FB page for further updates.

The NAF Atsugi main gate for vehicular traffic has been secured. The pedestrian main gate remains open. Both west gate and east gate are open for vehicle transit. Please continue to follow this FB page for further updates.

Yamato City festival May 9-10, 2026: Traffic Advisory

Yamato city will hold their annual festival Yamato Civic Festival at
Hikichidai Park on May 9 and 10. Both sides of streets at "Yanagibashi" signal will be closed during 1000 to 1230 on May 10, and 1000 to 1630 on May 9 and 10. Vehicles can drive across the signal from the west to the east (the East Gate heading to Yokohama), but expect heavy crowds and security control.

INSTALLATION TRAINING SCHEDULED FOR TONIGHT
May 4, 2026: 1900-2200

The installation will be conducting drills at Building 206 and Ranger Park from 1900 to 2200. No gate closures will be expected and traffic will not be effected. Ranger Park has been reserved for the exercise to be conduct. NAFA chain of command apologies ahead for the inconvenience.

BRANCH HEALTH CLINIC ATSUGI: Pharmacy processing delays

NAFA Community,

The Branch Health Clinic is currently experiencing delays with pharmacy processing. The network is up and prescriptions are still being processed, but turnaround times are slower than usual. If you are waiting on medications, please expect extended wait times. The clinic will continue to update the community on its’ status as the situation improves. The clinic thanks everyone for your patience and understanding.

Training Notice 🚨

Notification of Security to conduct drills Wednesday 15APR2026:

0830-1200 and 1900-2200 at East Gate, Building 206 Armory, and Ranger Park.

Normal traffic flow in the area is not to be impacted. There will be no gate closures. Ranger Park will be closed all day. Personnel should yield the right of way to emergency response vehicles who may be operating lights and sirens.

Under new regulations that came into effect April 1, 2026, all cyclists in Japan could be charged with fines for a number of minor traffic violations.

This regulation affects all of Japan, for both locals and foreigners.
