🎶 François-Xavier Richard (2017, crafts), accompanied by Muriel Marschal, returned to Japan from May to July with his Paper Organ tour. Adapting to seven unique venues, from Kyoto to Awaji Island, the tour reached a wide range of audiences and encouraged meaningful exchanges across generations. The project engaged children at Nagitsuji Kindergarten and the Lycée Français International de Kyoto, as well as senior participants at the Kuta Iki Iki Center. It also took place in major cultural venues including ROHM Theatre Kyoto and Villa Kujoyama, participated in the Earth Re:Action / Yamashina Festival at Kyoto Prison, and continued on Awaji Island with events at the Minami-Awaji Community Center and Kotonoma. At each venue, the Paper Organ was brought to life either through percussion performances or as the musical accompaniment to stories inspired by the Kojiki, in collaboration with actress Emi Ogura and percussionist Asuka Hatanaka.
✨ A heartfelt thank you to all the partners who made this tour possible, and to everyone who so warmly welcomed and supported the artists at every stop along the way!
