西アサヒでは、長い間、大相撲の支援を行ってきました。始まりは、戦前に遡り、西アサヒ円頓寺店の裏にある慶栄寺に名古屋場所の際、高砂部屋が宿舎を張っていた事に始まります。私が小さい頃には、大相撲初の外国人力士、高見山（ジェシーと呼ばせていただいていました。）や大関朝潮、関脇富士桜、水戸泉、そして９０年代には、大関小錦、横綱曙などのハワイ勢が、名古屋場所中取組後に西アサヒに来て、リラックスしていました。西アサヒ内い出の写真を載させていただきます。

みなさま、あけましておめでとうございます。本年も、どうぞ、よろしくお願いします。先代の３周忌も無事終了し、これより、少しづつ、西アサヒの歴史をお伝えして参ります。まずは、家系図からご紹介します。

Happy New Year! I am going to share the family tree of Nishiasahi's founding family. I am the 5th generation from the beginning of my family who involved establishing Nishiasahi, the first coffee shop in Nagoya.

西アサヒ創業家の加藤家は、代々、尾張衆として、地元を支え、明治の頃までは中区東瓦町、現在の中区役所の所在地に居を構えていた記録が出て来ています。昭和８年の開店時、私どもの高祖父、と曽祖父に支援され、はじめての喫茶店をひらき、直接店頭に立った祖母は、　高須松平家家、高須４兄弟で有名な廃藩後の美濃国高須藩（現岐阜県海津市）で明治期に軍需工場を営んでいた鈴木家の娘として明治44年8月に生まれ、その後、名古屋に引越し、私の祖父、重雄と結婚して西アサヒを開きました。明治生まれの女性起業家きぬゑによる西アサヒの物語は、大政奉還の時点まで遡ることができます。
正式に、この暖簾を継承したいと感じて頂ける方は、ご連絡ください。フランチャイズ契約をもって、正式なフランチャイズ事業者として承認させていただきます、なお、契約無く西アサヒの名称を使用することは硬く禁止させていただきます。

先日、長期療養中でありました、先代の西アサヒマスターが旅立ちました。創業者の息子として５０年あまりを西アサヒの繁栄の為に捧げました。来春には西アサヒ円頓寺店にてお別れ会を持つ予定です。長らく、お世話になった皆様、２代目加藤マーちゃんは、安らかに旅立ちました。重ね重ね、お礼を申しあげます。
Previous coffee shop "master", Ma-chan died a few days ago peacefully at the hospital. He devoted most of his life, 50 years! to serve great coffee and Egg sandwich at Nishiasahi untill 3 years ago. We are planning to have his gathering next spring. He shared great stories about Nagoya's oldest coffee shop, Nishiasahi at the end of his life. Thanks for Nishiasahi customers for all of your support!

Happy Spring! It is Sakura season in Nagoya castle. Our Endoji shop just finished their renovation and changed it to Coffee shop and Guest House!! 名古屋の喫茶「西アサヒ」がゲストハウスとして復活！ 名古屋の老舗喫茶店「西アサヒ」がゲストハウスとして復活！ 昭和７年にオープンして以来人気を博しながら平成25年から休業していましたが、4月1日に「喫茶、食堂、民宿。西アサヒ」としてリニューアルオープン。名物のたまごサンドももちろん復活！80年以上の歴史を持つ名物喫茶が名古屋観光の拠点になります。

This is new menu of Nishiasahi! Yey! We are preserving this 80 years old coffee shop with famous Tamago (Egg) Sandwich and the coffee in Nagoya, Japan. It has just 15 min walk from JR Nagoya station. You will encounter preserved Nagoya's old neighborhood , Shikemichi district, and oldest shopping mall, Endoji Shoutengai. People enjoy experiencing Nagoya's showa era as well as founding era, which is about 400 years old. It would be great if you can forward this info to your friends in Japan!!

Hi! This is my family's coffee shop in Nagoya Japan. It has 80yeras history and so many people love this place, coffee and Egg Sandwich!
