【ケニアから - その7】
現地調査のミッションもほぼ終盤。
朝一番で、「ケニア国家建設局（NCA）」で今後の進め方について相談。その後、「交通・インフラストラクチャー・住宅・都市開発省（Ministry of Transport, Infrastructures, Housing & Urban Development ）」の「住宅局（Housing Department）」へ（写真）。今回の補助金事業の大元である国土交通省住宅局の文字通りのケニア側カウンターパートだ。

日本企業がケニアの住宅事業、とくに Affordable Housing のような「収益性」の乏しい分野での進出を図ろうとする場合、企業自身の努力はもちろんだが、ケニア側公的機関の支援が欠かせない。現地調査の最終日に、住宅局を訪問したのは、まさに僕たちの意志を伝えつつ、ケニア側からのサポートへの要望を伝えるためだ。

国交省補助金事業による現地調査はこれで終わる。最初の一歩を踏み出すために僕たちが知るべきこと、気づくべきことは得られたと思う。次は、その「一歩」をどのようなものにするか、に近づいてゆこう。まだ先は長い。しかし、共に歩む仲間はいる。

【ケニアの誕生日】
昨日（12/12(木)）は、ケニアの Jamuhuri Day （独立記念日）式典。いつも力になってくださる Solomon Maina 大使と。Emmanuel は海外で、参加できなかったのが残念。

We visited Meru Herbs in this March. This was our second visit since July of the last year. We enjoyed the time and the space in their beautiful farm and are looking forward to collaborating with them in our project.
