駐日事務所長の成田詠子は、 #牧島かれん 衆議院議員を表敬訪問し、2025年に日本政府の支援を受けて実施されたUNFPAの最近の活動について意見交換を行いました。

また、UNFPAの活動および多国間主義への継続的なご理解とご支援に感謝をお伝えしました。

Dr. Eiko Narita, Chief of UNFPA TRO, paid a courtesy visit to Honourable Karen Makishima, Member of the House of Representatives, to discuss recent UNFPA activities funded by the Japan Government in 2025.

She expressed appreciation for continued acknowledgment and support to the work of UNFPA and to multilateralism.

2035年までに世界ではあと100万人の助産師が必要とされています。
UNFPA事務局長ディエネ・ケイタは、助産師は出産の補助にとどまらず、地域全体の健康を支える「保健システムの背骨」であると述べています。
UNFPAは、すべての女性が安全に出産を迎えられる世界を目指しています。

駐日事務所所長成田詠子は、4月20日黄川田仁志内閣府特命担当大臣を表敬訪問しました。成田は、5月7-8日に北マケドニア共和国と UNFPA共催で、北マケドニアの首都スコピエにて開催する第2回地域閣僚会議「変革を主導する：人口動態のレジリエンスに向けた人を中心とした道筋」の概要と、小児科医でもある宝塚市長の森臨太郎氏が参加すること、日本が東アジアから唯一の参加国である点を強調しました。

また、こども家庭庁からの資金を得て日本を含めた世界73か国を対象に実施しているUNFPAの「若者のリプロダクティブ・チョイス（性と生殖に関する選択）に関する調査」の進捗を報告しました。本調査結果に関する日本での発表の機会についても議論しました。

During the meeting, Dr. Narita provided an overview of the Second Regional Ministerial Conference, titled ‘Leading Change: People-Centred Paths to Demographic Resilience’, which will be co-hosted by the Republic of North Macedonia and UNFPA on May 7–8 in Skopje. She also highlighted that Dr. Rintaro Mori, Mayor of Takarazuka City and a pediatrician, will participate in the conference, emphasizing Japan’s singular participation from East Asia.

In addition, she reported on the progress of the UNFPA ‘Youth Reproductive Choices Survey’—a global survey covering 73 countries, including Japan—implemented with funding support from the Children and Families Agency. Dr. Narita and H.E. Kikawada also discussed opportunities for its launch in Japan.

国連人口基金駐日事務所成田詠子所長は4月2日、宮路拓馬衆議院議員を表敬訪問。UNFPAの活動を紹介するとともに、日本の補正予算を活用し、ボーダレス・ジャパンとの連携でタンザニアにおけるフェムテックを用いた「生理の貧困」対策について説明しました。

Dr. Eiko Narita, Chief of UNFPA Tokyo Representation Office, paid a courtesy visit to Honourable Takuma Miyaji (former Vice Foreign Minister) on 2 April. She highlighted UNFPA’s work, including a UNFPA Tanzania’s Japan-funded project in partnership with Borderless using fem-tech to tackle ‘period poverty’ in Tanzania.

3月31日にUNFPA駐日事務所インターンの常岡舞秋レイが、4月下旬にニューヨーク模擬国連に日本代表として参加する約30名の「グローバル・クラスルーム」の生徒に向けて講演を行いました。UNFPAと駐日事務所の活動、模擬国連での交渉の秘訣を紹介しました。

On March 31, Maia Rei Tsuneoka, an intern at the UNFPA Tokyo Representation Office, delivered a presentation to the Global Classroom students going as the Japan Delegation at the upcoming New York Model United Nations Conference. She highlighted UNFPA’s mandate, the work of the Tokyo Representation Office and key strategies for succeeding in Model United Nations negotiations. The event had approximately 30 participants, ranging from high school students to working professionals, with other UN organizations such as UNDP, ILO, and UNV also presenting at the event.

「 #世界水の日」を記念し、3月18日に国連大学（UNU）が主催したオンラインセミナー「水とジェンダー」で、 駐日事務所所長の成田詠子が講演しました。

自然災害が、特に女性や少女に影響を及ぼすことに触れ、洪水時における月経衛生などの健康課題が彼女たちの生活に深く関わることを強調しました。また、UNFPAが提供するディグニティ・キットなどの命を守る支援や、ジェンダーに基づく暴力の防止、児童婚といった有害な慣行の根絶に向けた取り組みについて紹介しました。

To commemorate , Dr. Eiko Narita, Chief of Tokyo Representation Office, spoke at the UNU “Water & Gender” online seminar on 18 March.

She highlighted that natural disasters disproportionately affect girls and women, highlighting how health, such as menstrual hygiene during floods, impact their well-being. She explained how UNFPA provides life-saving services to women and girls, notably dignity kits, to preventing gender-based violence as well as harmful practice such as child marriage.
