FRUITFUL PARTNERSHIP
Baringo County Government in partnership with World Food Program (WFP) is transforming lives through irrigation which is a game changer when it comes to food security..
The Chief Officer Water, Sanitation and Irrigation inspected Mosuro Irrigation Scheme in Mukutani Ward, Baringo South—a project that started with a small group of farmers and has now expanded to seven blocks covering over 4,000 acres of land. Currently, the available structures support 700 acres under cultivation, benefiting around 400 farmers.

To further enhance agricultural productivity, the County Government of Baringo, in collaboration with WFP, has stepped in to support the expansion of conveyance structures. This includes canal lining, division boxes and road crossings—critical infrastructure that will ensure efficient water distribution. The works are now at an advanced stage and soon, the people of Mosuro will begin to reap the rewards of this transformative investment.

The CO was accompanied by Area MCA Hon. Lolgosoi, the County Assembly Committee on Water led by Chair Hon. Kiprono, Hon. Tuwit, County Water Director Chepwarwa, Director of Irrigation Eng. Kemboi Cheleiwo and the dedicated technical team.

RETIREMENT WITH HONOR
The Department of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation celebrated Madam Zipporah Kipkemei who served government for over 30 years. She was blessed by the staff spiritually with prayers, great appreciations, advice and gifts for her distinguished service. Zipporah is born again , God fearing and was happy to exit service on attainment of the mandatory retirement age of 60 years. It was a promotion to senior citizen. There are many ways people exit employment but the best and honorable one is retirement.
The function was held at the Kabarnet Water offices led by the new Chief Officer, Dr. Winnie Bore and the Director, Eng. Noah Chepwarwa.
All workers are advised to plan for a happy retirement by saving and investing in advance. Those who don't plan for their exit from employment will have miserable lives.
