Ooh my goodness i’m so passionate about oral health empowerment, especially among children💕wake me up at night and I will deliver.
I spent my afternoon with the amazing kids from Oasis of Great Hope School, empowering young minds with knowledge about oral health and the importance of taking care of their smiles. These pictures will explain how exciting, interactive and curious they were.

What touched me most was their excitement, curiosity, and willingness to learn. Their energy truly lifted my spirit and reminded me why I do what I do. It's how our energy matched that made the session so special.

Every child deserves the knowledge, confidence, and opportunity to grow up with a healthy smile. 🦷💙

Today, we visited Poole Primary and Kitalakapel Primary to celebrate Colgate’s Day of Goodness and had the privilege of reaching approximately 1,100 learners.
Learning under a tree, having a class beyond the classroom, and creating spaces where children can learn, dream and be inspired.
This is what it means to empower the real Mashinani — meeting learners where they are and reminding them that their health, education and dreams matter.
Special thanks to Colgate for facilitating the event and providing oral care samples for the learners.
And to the OHM team, thank you for always showing up, giving your time and inspiring learners through every outreach. Your commitment to the community is the heart of what we do.

To our amazing OHM volunteers, this is for you. ❤️
Every time we step into a school, a community, or a village, you show up. You give your time, your energy, your skills and, most importantly, your heart.
Behind every child reached, every smile, every oral health lesson and every toothbrush distributed, there is a volunteer who chose to show up and serve.
At Oral Health Mashinani, we deeply appreciate every volunteer who continues to believe in our mission and stand with us in empowering smiles and enriching children’s lives.
Thank you for showing up for the community, even when no one is watching. Your impact goes far beyond what can be measured.
We see you. We appreciate you. We celebrate you. ❤️

My reflection from the Oral Health Association of Kenya (OHAK )32nd Annual Scientific Conference
I love being in powerful rooms, and this conference reminded me of one thing I kept telling myself throughout: I belong in the room. My presence matters.
I was intentional about attending this conference, and I started preparing early because I knew I wanted to show up fully. As the founder of Oral Health Mashinani and an oral health intern, I knew I belonged in this space. The conference theme, “Bridging Gaps, Breaking Boundaries: Collaboration in Oral Health,” speaks so closely to the work I do through OHM, bringing oral health closer to underserved communities.
I deeply appreciated that the association recognized and appreciated the role that young people and organizations like mine are playing in advancing oral health in communities that are often left behind. It was also beautiful connecting with professionals, learning from experts, and being in a room with public figures whose leadership and achievements I genuinely admire.
As one of the youngest people in the room, I do not take these spaces for granted. They inspire growth, expand my perspective, challenge me to dream bigger, and push me to become a better version of myself.
Those days were worth it. I showed up, I learned, I connected, and most importantly, I was reminded that I belong in the room. ❤️

Practical teaching makes learning come alive!
During our outreaches, we don’t just tell learners about oral health, we show them, guide them, and let them practise. From demonstrating the right brushing technique to allowing learners to try it themselves, practical sessions help turn knowledge into lifelong habits.
Because sometimes, seeing and doing teaches better than simply listening.

07/09/2026

We share resources with our learners because we believe knowledge is more impactful when learners have the tools to put it into practice.
Every toothbrush, toothpaste and learning resource is an investment in healthier habits, confident smiles and a healthier generation.
We don't just teach. We equip. We empower. We nurture. 💙
