A Memorial Birthday Tribute
The Late Right Honourable Raila Amollo Odinga
7/1/2026 (81 Years since His Birth)
Today, we mark a birthday not with celebration, but with contemplation; not with applause, but with silence heavy with meaning. We have no doubt lost; Raila Amollo Odinga was Kenya’s political colossus, Africa’s democratic conscience, and one of the most consequential architects of multiparty democracy in the postcolonial world.
Raila Odinga belonged to that rare category of leaders who do not merely participate in history but interrupt it, forcing power to pause, reflect, and re-negotiate their moral direction. His life was an extended argument against injustice, an unrelenting critique of neocolonial power, and a lived example on resistance as a civic duty.
He understood, perhaps more clearly than most, that freedom is never inherited; it is contested, defended, and renewed by each generation.
As an intellectual and political actor, Raila was never content with superficial reform. He pursued structural justice frequently at great personal cost, because he believed that democracy without equity is a hollow ritual, and independence without dignity is a betrayal of history. His political journey was marked not by convenience, but by conviction; not by opportunism, but by an unshakeable loyalty to the oppressed and excluded.
At home, he was a son whose courage dignified our collective identity. To Kenya, he was the President history owed but politics denied the conscience of the Republic, standing persistently at the gates of reform. To Africa and the global community, he was a statesman of ideas, reminding the world that democratic struggle in the Global South is neither derivative nor inferior, but original, profound, and costly.
As founder and leader of the Orange Democratic Movement, Raila institutionalized dissent and transformed resistance into organized political education. ODM was not merely a party; it was a school of thought, a moral community, and a vehicle for progressive imagination. Through it, he mentored generations to believe that politics could still be ethical, and that power must always answer to the people.
There is sadness today, deep, reflective sadness not only because Raila Odinga is no longer with us, but because his absence reminds us how rare principled leadership truly is. Yet there is also intellectual loyalty: a commitment to preserve his ideas, to defend his legacy from distortion, and to carry forward the unfinished work of justice, equality, and national renewal.
History will remember Raila Amollo Odinga not as a man who sought power for its own sake, but as one who carried the burden of a nation’s unrealized promises. His life affirms that true leadership is measured not by titles held, but by truths defended.
On this solemn birthday, we bow to his memory. We recommit to his ideals. And we remind ourselves that while the man has departed, the struggle he embodied remains our collective responsibility.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
May his ideas continue to disturb injustice.
May Kenya, Africa and the world remain forever indebted to his courage.

EVEN Without NASA In The Petition The Supreme Court Will NULLIFY Election Of Uhuru As president in the RIGGED October Polls

NASA EXPUNGED – LEGAL IMPLICATIONS

The Supreme Court has earlier this evening made a Ruling expunging the National Super Alliance (NASA) from the proceedings.

There are questions as to the effect of the striking out of NASA from the Petition and more particularly whether or not the same weakens the Petition, in view that the last Presidential Petition (Raila 2017) which was successful had NASA actively involved with NASA’s advocates seen to have performed tremendously to persuade the SCORK judges to invalidate the 8th August 2017 Presidential elections.

For a start he two presidential petitions – the successful one against the 8th August 2017 elections and the current one challenging the 26th August 2017 elections – need to be distinguished.

While NASA was the Petitioner in the 8th August elections, the Alliance was a Respondent – the 4th – before the striking out. As a petitioner, NASA had to make its accusations against the Respondents and prove the same, the role of a Respondent is merely to respond to the allegations levelled against it.

It is therefore noteworthy that the Consolidated Petition will turn around the evidence adduced by the 3 petitioners Harun MWAU, Njonjo MUE and Khelef KHALIF. NASA, as a Respondent was going to add little or no material in support of the quest to invalidate the elections. Legally speaking, NASA would have been reduced to merely defending itself against adverse allegations against it both by the Petitioners and or the other Respondents.

The departure of NASA therefore does not the evidential value of the Petition although it takes away the political excitement and interest from the NASA-allied followers.

While the expunging of the attached IEBC internal memos has dealt some blow in terms of the evidence to be relied on, the focus shifts to the Ruling on the application for order of scrutiny set for tomorrow, the Petition retains its heavy evidential weight.

While it is not lost to me that Presidential petitions go beyond just evidence, the evidence adduced in the petition and the attendant affidavits (most of which the Court declined to strike out) is more than sufficient to lead to the invalidation of the 26th October elections.

I am inclined to strongly believe that the Supreme Court of Kenya shall for the record second time in one and a half months invalidate a Presidential elections.
