Today, I had the privilege of joining Grade 6 and Grade 9 candidates at Bishop Mahon Primary School to encourage them and wish them the very best as they prepare to sit for their national examinations.
The visit was aimed at motivating the learners and boosting their confidence ahead of this important milestone in their academic journey. I urged them to remain focused, disciplined, and to believe in themselves.
To support them during the examination period, I donated essential examination materials including Geometrical sets and other stationery to ensure that no candidate misses their exam due to lack of basic tools.
I also provided food supplies that will sustain the candidates throughout the examination period, to ensure they sit for their exams while well-fed and comfortable, without the worry of hunger affecting their concentration.
In addition, as part of promoting the health, dignity and well-being of our girls, I distributed sanitary pads to the female candidates to ensure they are comfortable and able to sit for their exams without interruption.
Finally, I called upon parents and guardians to be extra vigilant as our children head home for the long holiday after the exams. It is our collective responsibility to protect, guide and mentor our children during this period and shield them from negative influences, including drug and substance abuse.
