This tracker monitors the Ebola (Bundibugyo) outbreak worldwide in real-time from WHO, ECDC, CDC, and Africa CDC sources every 5 minutes. It includes confirmed cases, suspected cases, and surveillance alerts across.

Kenya is classified high-risk by Africa CDC due to high cross-border movement with DRC/Uganda and with recent reports of possibility of US Donald J. Trump setting up an isolation camp in Kenya to quarantine it's exposed citizens; an idea that has been greatly opposed by Kenyans. FUEL PRICES ACROSS EAST AFRICA

The following chart shows the fuel prices across East Africa for the April 2026 cycle, converted to Kenya Shillings (KSh) per litre for comparison.

Fuel prices in the region have seen a sharp increase recently, driven by global supply disruptions and Middle East geopolitical tensions. Kenya saw a historic rise this month, with both petrol and diesel crossing the KSh 206 mark. South Sudan (Juba) currently records the highest prices in the region due to infrastructure challenges, while Ethiopia remains the most affordable, largely due to government subsidies

THE 'WATU WASOMEE KWAO' DEBATE: TRIBALISM OR ACCOUNTABILITY IN SCHOOL PLACEMENTS?

Analysis of comments from an online post by Ndungu Nyoro reveals that;
✅ 65.4% of respondents support the locals-first idea in national school admissions.
Main reasons cited by supporters:
>Accountability & devolution:
“We built these schools—leaders must serve locals.”
Quota logic:
>Reserve ~50–60% for qualified local learners (common proposals: 50%, 60%, 70%, even up to 80%).
>Practicality:
Nearer schools reduce transport, safety, and cost burdens.

✅23.1% of respondents are Opposing the idea and maintain that "Keep National Schools Truly National
Main reasons cited by opponents:
>Meritocracy:
“Placement should be based on marks and qualification, not locality.”
>National cohesion & exposure:
“National schools must reflect unity and diversity—students from all regions.”
>Risk of tribalism:
“Localizing admissions is backward and promotes tribalism.”

11.5% have posed Unresolved questions
>Who counts as “local”? especially in big cities?

CONCLUSION
Supporters frame it as fairness and accountability, while opponents see it as a threat to equity and national unity. The unresolved question remains: How to balance local empowerment with merit and integration?

>Perceived corruption: Allegations of bribery and lack of democratic processes in endorsements.

46/719 or 6.4% of comments expressed confidence in Atwoli’s experience and continuity, congratulating him and emphasizing stability.

Around 5% of comments were unrelated (memes, jokes, or promotional content).

CONCLUSION

PUBLIC REACTIONS AS HE RUTO PROPOSES DEATH BY HANGING LAW FOR DRUG TRAFFICKERS

From a sample size of 281 annotated tones, the sentiment distribution shows that:
> Most Respondents (202 → 71.9%) are Negative/Against the proposal. They have expressed criticism, hostility, sarcasm or distrust. They are concerned about fairness, misuse and ignoring corruption.
>17% of the respondents are Neutral
These responses were largely conditional, questioning or factual, showing a wait‑and‑see attitude dependent on legal clarity and equal application.
>Positive (32 → 11.4%)
A small group offered support, mainly valuing a tough stance on crime

OVERAL SUMMARY.
Across reactions, corruption is mentioned as a central concern. Many argue that: corruption is a larger and more systemic national threat than drug trafficking and call upon the president William Samoei Ruto to introduce the death penalty to address corruption also. The public perceives the policy as incomplete unless corruption is equally targeted.

EARLY VISUALIZATION

Charles Minard’s 1869 chart showing Napoleon Bonaparte’s 1812 Russian campaign of his army and their movements.
Minard’s chart is considered “probably the best statistical graphic ever drawn.”

WHY IS IT CONSIDERED THE BEST?
The visualization depicts Napoleon’s army departing the Polish-Russian border. It’s a bitter and cold winter. You can see the trajectory of the march and the geography of the landscape such as rivers. There is a thick band that illustrates the size of his army at specific geographic points during their advance and retreat. It displays six types of data in two dimensions:

The number of Napoleon’s troops
The distance traveled
The temperature
Latitude and longitude
Direction of travel
Location relative to specific dates without making mention of Napoleon
