Phase 1 of the Kiamaiko drainage channel construction is officially complete 🎉

We’ve also reinstated the walkways, and in the process, shown that it’s possible to build infrastructure that puts safety and dignity first when it’s done together with the community. This is just the beginning, but it proves what we can achieve when residents, partners, and teams work side by side.

Training on the settlement profiling tool under the Dr. Sulley Gariba SDI Impact Innovation Initiative is underway as youth Trainers of Trainers (TOTs) prepare to lead city-wide profiling within their communities and build the capacities of fellow young people.

This initiative strengthens their role in shaping stronger analysis, informed advocacy, and practical solutions that can influence urban policies, programs, and markets, by equipping youth with the tools to generate community-led data and evidence,

Through this process, young people are helping lay the foundation for dignified employment, entrepreneurship, and the transformation of slums and informal settlements from within.
