Impactful Civic Education & Public Participation in Bamburi Ward

The Lands Department today conducted a successful civic education and public participation session at Majaoni Primary School, bringing together residents from the Majaoni and Shanzu settlement schemes.

The session focused on key issues including:
- Payment of county land rates and land rent
- Development control approvals and requirements
- The importance of compliance in ensuring orderly and sustainable development

This initiative comes at a critical time during the ongoing land rates waiver period, offering residents valuable guidance and an opportunity to engage directly with county officials.

The exercise was led by Chief Officer Eng. Marian Mapenzi and Land Administration Director Ms. Rose Munupe, with support from the area MCA, Hon. Patrick Mwavula.

Engaging communities remains central to promoting awareness, compliance, and inclusive development.

The Department continues to urge all residents of Mombasa to take full advantage of the land rates waiver program before it ends on 15th April 2026. Settle your dues now to avoid penalties and stay compliant.
