The Ministry of Youth, Gender and Sports Mombasa County participated in the forum in Mombasa around youth empowerment exploring the extent to which there is synergy in vision and approach between the myriad of stakeholders – private sector included - involved in addressing the issues faced by young people, namely unemployment.

Organised by KUZA Project, together with the Rift Valley Institute and Adam Smith International were the hosts. KUZA Project is funded by UK Aid and is supporting Youth empowerment in Mombasa County and encourage productive and sustainable creation for Mombasa's young Men and Women.

The forum aimed at exploring the extent to which there is synergy between how populations in the Coast region define and experience the problem of youth unemployment, and how policy makers do in the Central government.

A second panel discussed how more effective multi-stakeholder cooperation can be encouraged given the complex nature of partnerships and often-cited challenges related to misaligned visions and strategies, power-imbalances and attitudes; and the role of the County Government in brokering effective partnerships.

The forum will took place on Thursday 8 December 2016, in Mombasa County. The venue was at Forodhani Restaurant, Old Town.
