The County Government of Mombasa, through the Department of Tourism, Culture, and Trade, wishes to inform all traders at Makupa/Majengo Market that construction of the new Modern Market is set to begin soon.

As we take this important step toward improving our trading environment, all traders are kindly requested to relocate to the temporary open-air market along Majengo Road.

This new market project is designed to create better working conditions, improve safety and cleanliness, and provide a more comfortable shopping experience for the people of Mvita.

We thank you for your cooperation and partnership as we work together to build a stronger and more prosperous Mombasa.

The Weights and Measures Directorate, under the County Department of Tourism, Culture, and Trade, in collaboration with the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry (MITI), has successfully concluded the regional public participation forum for The Draft National Trade Development Bill 2025.

​Held today at the Tononoka Social Hall in Mombasa, the session brought together stakeholders from Mombasa, Kwale, and Taita Taveta Counties to provide their vital input on this landmark legislation.
