The law states that a retired president must not hold office in a political party for more than 6 months after leaving office.
After that period, they are expected to step away from active party leadership and adopt a more neutral role. The Act envisions a retired president as:
Consultative and advisory to the government and nation
Occasionally performing official duties when requested
Consequences of engaging in active politics:
If a retired president continues to engage in active party politics (especially beyond the allowed period):
The National Assembly of Kenya can pass a resolution (with a 2/3 majority) to:
Reduce or completely withdraw their retirement benefits
This includes pension, allowances, security, and other privileges provided under the Act.

When Iran threatens to close the Strait of Hormuz, the world understands the gravity of that move. Nearly a fifth of the world’s oil supply flows through that narrow corridor. Shut it down, and global oil prices do not just rise — they explode. Markets panic. Economies tremble. Energy becomes a weapon.
But let us be clear: in global politics, nothing happens in isolation.
The United States today stands as one of the world’s leading energy producers. Our reserves are strong. Our production capacity is unmatched. When global oil prices surge, those with supply hold power. That is not speculation — that is economics.
Under President Donald Trump, America adopted a doctrine of strength through leverage. A businessman understands markets. A negotiator understands timing. And a leader understands power.
President Trump applied fundamental principles drawn from both business and geopolitics:
He believed in maximum pressure — using sanctions and economic force to weaken adversaries before ever firing a shot.
He championed energy dominance — ensuring America would never again be held hostage by foreign oil.
He practiced transactional diplomacy — treating international relations not as charity, but as negotiation. Every alliance had value. Every adversary faced consequences.
He understood market timing — that when supply tightens and prices rise, those who control resources hold strategic advantage.
And above all, he believed in peace through strength — maintaining overwhelming military capability to deter threats while negotiating from a position of undeniable power.
If Iran escalates, the consequences ripple worldwide. Oil prices rise. Strategic calculations shift. Nations reassess their alliances. But America, under a leadership rooted in business acumen and strategic realism, positions itself not as a victim of global turbulence — but as a decisive actor within it.
In geopolitics, power is leverage. Energy is leverage. Economic strength is leverage.
And those who understand leverage shape the outcome.

There have been circulating reports alleging that the Islamic Republic of Iran is planning to target Kenya with long-range projectiles. These claims prompted the Iranian Ambassador to Kenya to issue a clarification, dismissing them as unfounded rumors.
From a purely military and technical standpoint, even if such intent existed, Iran’s current missile capabilities would not support such an operation. Open-source defense assessments indicate that Iran’s longest-range ballistic missiles have an estimated maximum range of approximately 2,000 kilometers (about 1,240 miles, or roughly 1,080 nautical miles).
In contrast, the distance between Iran and Kenya exceeds 4,000 kilometers (approximately 2,485 miles, or about 2,160 nautical miles). This distance is well beyond the operational reach of Iran’s known missile systems. Any projectile launched toward Kenya under these constraints would fall significantly short of its target, most likely impacting the Indian Ocean long before reaching Kenyan airspace.
Therefore, based on current publicly available military capability data, such claims lack strategic and technical feasibility.
