For the last two days, The CEC for Water, Sanitation & Natural Resources Hon. Tawfiq Balala accompanied by The Chief officer Eng. Keno, BoD Director Atul Patel and Mowasco's MD Anthony Njaramba among other Water staff paid a visit to the water sources in Kwale , Kilifi and Voi to see where the water that we use come from.

The sources visited are Marere which supplies 4,000 cubic meters a day, Tiwi boreholes - 1000 cubic meters, Baricho Water works 18,000 cubic meters and Mzima Springs supplying 8,000 cubic meters.

Mombasa as a County does not have its own water source and therefore depends on water from these neighbouring counties, which give us an accumulated average of 30,000 cubic meters against our demand of 200,000 cubic meters.
