Coast Water Works Development Agency today,June 2nd 2026 held a productive technical meeting with representatives from the ministry of water and representatives from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST) and the Welle Group. Discussions focused on technology transfer, research collaboration, capacity building, and innovative solutions to enhance sustainable water resources management.
This engagement marks a significant step towards strengthening water security, improving resource efficiency, and building resilience to environmental and climate-related challenges through global partnerships and shared expertise.

Site Handover of the Msau Water Pan Project – Taita Taveta County
The Msau Water Pan Project in Mwatate Constituency, Taita Taveta County was officially handed over to the contractor on 7th May 2026 during a stakeholder meeting led by the Coast Water Works Development Agency. The meeting was attended by the Area Member of Parliament Hon .Peter Mbogho Shake ,members of the Water Pan Committee, local leaders and other stakeholders.
This milestone signals the start of project implementation aimed at enhancing access to reliable water for both domestic and livestock and irrigation use. Key activities will include reservoir excavation, site fencing, draw-off structures community watering point and installation of a solar-powered pumping system.

The Bangale 1 Water Pan Project in Bura Constituency, Tana River County was officially handed over to the contractor on 29th April 2026 during a stakeholder meeting led by the Coast Water Works Development Agency. The meeting was attended by the Area Chief, members of the Water Pan Committee, local leaders and other stakeholders.
This milestone signals the start of project implementation aimed at enhancing access to reliable water for both domestic and livestock use. Key activities will include reservoir excavation, site fencing, rehabilitation of draw-off structures and the installation of a solar-powered pumping system.

Coast Water Works Development Agency officially launched the Extension of Water Supply to Sheli Village Project in Garsen Constituency, Tana River County. The event was attended by Hon. Ali Wario, MP for Garsen, local leaders, community members and other distinguished guests.
The contract works comprise laying of a 4 km pipeline from Konkona Borehole to Sheli Village, water distribution network, construction of two water kiosks and communal water points.
Upon completion, the project will enhance access to safe and reliable drinking water, reduce waterborne diseases, save time spent fetching water for 300 households.
The Agency reaffirmed its commitment to delivering sustainable water solutions and improving equitable access to essential services.
