The CWWDA Board of Directors, led by Chairman Mr. Kadhua Jimmy Kahindi, MBS, this afternoon held an engagement with the Management Team to review the Agency’s operations, strategic priorities and ongoing programmes.

The meeting provided an opportunity to assess progress, address emerging challenges and strengthen coordination towards delivering on CWWDA’s mandate of developing and managing public water works and ensuring reliable bulk water supply across the Coast Region.

The Board reaffirmed its commitment to providing strategic leadership and supporting Management in advancing the Agency’s goals and improving water security for the region.

The CWWDA Board of Directors, led by Chairman Mr. Kadhua Jimmy Kahindi, MBS, today paid a courtesy call on the Ag. Regional Manager, Kenya Power, Eng. Erick Langat.

The engagement highlighted the importance of Kenya Power as a key stakeholder in ensuring reliable water supply, given that CWWDA’s bulk water systems rely heavily on electricity for pumping and treatment operations.

The Board also discussed challenges around electricity bills and power disconnections, which disrupt water production and supply. CWWDA remains committed to working closely with Kenya Power and other stakeholders to strengthen coordination and ensure continuity of bulk water supply across the Coast Region.

The Coast Water Works Development Agency (CWWDA) Board of Directors, led by Chairman Mr. Kadhua Jimmy Kahindi, MBS, today engaged Chairpersons and Managing Directors of four Water Service Providers (WSPs) across the Coast Region.

The meeting addressed critical issues affecting bulk water supply including the status of bulk water systems, bulk water bill payments and payment plans as well as assets developed for WSPs.

Chairman Kadhua emphasised that the Agency will not disconnect water supply, while the WSPs committed to settling their bulk water bills in full.

The engagement brought together MOWASSCO, MAWASCO, KIMAWASCO and TAVEVO reaffirming a shared commitment to stronger collaboration, financial sustainability and reliable bulk water supply across the Coast Region.

CWWDA remains committed to working with WSPs to safeguard sustainable bulk water services and reliable water supply to communities.
