Today, as Chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Health, I led a meeting with the CEO of the Social Health Authority to review the Authority’s operational report since its inception and address issues raised in the statements made to the Committee.

Our discussions focused on service delivery, operational efficiency, and the implementation of healthcare reforms to improve access to quality and affordable healthcare for Kenyans.

The Senate remains committed to strengthening the cooperative sector and advancing reforms that promote accountability, inclusivity, and sustainable economic growth across the country.

For the better part of today, as members of the Senate Standing Committee on Trade, Tourism and Industrialization, we met with the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, to deliberate on the state of SACCO reforms in the country and statements pending before the Committee.

Today, As Chairperson of the Senate standing Committee on Health, I led a meeting with the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Aden Duale, PS Ouma Oluga to deliberate on the Ministry of Health Report on Cell, Tissue and Organ Transplant Services in Kenya.

The Committee engaged the Ministry on critical issues surrounding the regulation, accountability and management of organ transplant services, with emphasis on protecting patients’ rights, enhancing transparency and ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards.
